For me,

In: Solomon
Out: Gilmore

I think Solomon will be really handy at Skilled. I'd like to see M Carr dropped, but like that is going to happen.

Gilmore was servicable but no-one else to drop.

I come across as a bagger, but can you explain this to me.
He is not winning ruck taps, he does not tackle well and he kicks the ball either to the other team, 2 meters in front of a lead or over the head of the lead.
He is cack. Even in wet conditions we could do worse than have Warnock, and that would be to have Gilmore.

Gilmore will only be dropped for Warnie, and with showers a possibility, that won't happen.

Matt Carr out for Solomon or Cook.

If Webster, Walker, Campbell and Duffield continue to play well it will be very hard for CC to keep Matt Carr in the side when the likes of Peake and Thornton are ready to return.

I have been one of Ibbo's biggest fans as I believe he will be one of those players that will really step up at the next level but I really hope the coaching staff at Freo (no doubt they will be) are working on his defensive pressure.

The guy is one of the best finishers at the club and has the pace to match it.

Also if your gonna drop Gilmore you need to bring another ruckman in, I would almost bring Warnock in after seeing Geelong today completly dominate West Coast in the ruck.

I agree Lach, I think it's time we move on and give Warnock a real go in the team. Gilmore has had plenty of chances and hasn't ever really grasped any of them. A lot of people may complain that he hasn't ever been given a proper 'position' in the team but unfortunately it's a team game, and when you're a fringe player you've got to make the most of the chances you are given.

I think Warnock will learn a lot more playing against the ruckmen in the AFL and hopefully pick up a tip or two in the forward line from Taz and Pav.

See what do we lose by putting the young fella in?
We get some experience into him and we drop a guy who is an advantage to the other team...

Didn't Murphy kick 8 for SF (at least that's what I think I heard)? If so, surely he'd come into consideration?

Huge case for Hadrill, Parker or Thornton this week.

Cats forwards are

Mooney
Ablett N
Hawkins
Ottens

They will command 4 big men and I would like to see

Mooney - Groper
Ablett N - Dodd / McPharlin when ottens not forward
Hawkins - Hadrill / Parker
Ottens - McPharlin

hayden to G Ablett. He murdered cook and walker last year. Jimmy is better but lets not risk it.

I dont like Mundy or Johnson on any of those big blokes, I saw Hawkins kick a bag on Polak who is a stronger than Mundy and Johnson.

With the Talls we should be able to clear the ball when it hits the ground easily.

In: Hadrill, Warnock (Sandi to spend some time forward this week to stretch them)

out: Webster (not required this week, no rebounding defender... slow) Gilmore

Murphy needs form over more than one week.

I'd get rid of Gilmore, We need M.Carr to tag a player.

I am just annoyed that everytime gilmore gets the ball he bombs it long with no purpose.

Disagree vehemently

Webster has been one of the best every game he has played this year. His disposal is first class

After the way we played today i don't think Solomon is in the best 22
Changes:
In: Collard
Warnock
Out: Gilmore
M Carr

Ok,

Webster was maybe slightly controversial here.. but what would his role be at Skilled Stadium? Why do we need him this week? We must select a team to win.

Who is going to play on the big Geelong forwards?

ok this is a bit far fetched but what about webster
we played him as a defender every now and then last year he could take ablet or someone simular

I vote for Matt Carr out too. Learn to kick.

Does Webster have the tank to replace Carr as the big bodied tagger?

I am all for dropping matt carr. The way he runs is all wrong (he looks like he has browned his pants), does not take big strides, his head is wobbling all over the shop, he presents as unfit, he is not urgent, his skills are poor. Chop him to the Parker basket.

It's not always how fast you run, or how handsomely you stride out, it's sometimes about the amount of ground you cover.

Carr kept Crawford to 16 touches, and picked up 16 himself. Admittedly he made a few clangers. If we have another midfielder who can keep the likes of Goodwin and Crawford to 16 possies, and be more damaging themselves, then I'm all for it!

I think a fair few people overlook the defensive side of Carr's game, and feel justified in calling for his head merely because he has a quiet game possession-wise.

Kicking to the opposition, or handballing to a guy with 2 opposition players on his hammer and who is immediately brought down... that kind of helps galvanise people's opinion of him too. There was one occasion right in front of us. There had been a patient build up from the backline, and carr had it on the wing. There was a lot of congestion (read there were close to 35 players in front of him) and someone had got a bit of space and led up towards him on the half forward flank. It was a 20m pass at best. He was under minimal pressure. All he had to do was hit the leading player and we were 20m closer. The ball bounced about 3m in front, two hawthorn players converged, turnover... and off it went. Moments later they had a shot on goal (which I think they missed, but that's not the point). I know it's tough to single out one episode, but after his ridiculous "corralling" efforts (also just in front of me) earlier on, I saw that and thought that the skills he is showing are pretty woeful at the moment.

Agreed! His disposal has been poor.

But the defensive side of his game has been good. Thats why I would argue that he is still offering something to the team.

As for that particular clanger, I will raise you a Pav trying to switch play and spotting up a Hawks player at half forward, and Mundy spotting up a Hawks player thirty from our goal, as more deserving contenders for the "most frustrating kick of the day" award.

Ok. Based on the stats keep him in the team, I like him and he did his job today keeping his opponent quiet.

I have seen him run much better, he is taking kid steps with a strained look on his face. He is not fit.

Good runners keep thier head still, it is not hard, he must do it.
