Smith, Hughes and Khawaja are our three best young batsman in the country, I'd keep them all in the team. If Warner comes in I'm not sure who it's for. It would be Watson if he wasn't such an important bowler. That leaves Rogers, and I think he should stay in.

not really sure what thread this belongs to but hyperbole of the day belongs to my old man. speaking to him at work and he says "I think when he retires jimmy anderson might go down as the best bowler of all time"

he is one of the better judges of a cricketer i know, but maybe old age is catching up. fantastic bowler over the second half of his career but even discounting the ordinary start he had, there is a long queue of bowlers to jump over.

Anderson's not even the most talented bowler in this series, let alone of the last 10 years, or any other time period.

Bad call gary, facetious call

Based on what?

The fact that he's been in the top 3 bats in the country since he's debuted comfortably, has a half-decent technique and knows how to make runs?

Wade should be getting a gig

Yep, I agree
Also think the first XI needs more Big Show

Maybe a bit left field, but why not try something like:

Watson (last chance)
Rogers
Warner
Khawaja
Clarke
Maxwell
Wade
Agar
Siddle
Harris
Bird

You should put this post in the essendon board's 'delusional pearlers' thread.

Who's been better, other than Clarke? Watson has been useless, Rogers and Khawaja haven't played enough for you to be able to tell, and he's been better than Cowan and Warner. Hughes maybe, but seriously, who do you think has been better?

So unless Smith gets a 100 in the tour match it's pretty much guaranteed Warner will come in for him and bat at 6, right?

Definitely not, ignoring the fact he's on 98* at stumps atm. They'll stick with Smith and rightly so imo.

Well someone needs to be dropped for Warner, shouldn't be such a hard decision considering how bad our batting is. Maybe its because their are too many options? I'd be a bit worried about seeing Warner and Watson opening together...

wade's current test batting average higher than hughes, khawaja, smith, haddin, rogers, cowan, shaun marsh, tim paine, so um...not delusion but factual....
Not factual either. Tim Paine has a higher test average. So does Brad Haddin. You fail at maths.

Thus Wade is only the third best keeper in terms of batting and the worst in Australia in terms of keeping.

thank you for the correct, yes, paine is close to 36, and haddin has gone past wade with his recent 70, but was below him before that.
Wade is now only better than hughes, khawaja, smith, , rogers, cowan and shaun marsh

If they were brave Watson would be dropped for Warner. Not gonna happen unfortunately.

now you are exaggerating, while the evidence of haddin's incompetence was plain to see in the first two tests of this ashes series.
Well if you're allowed to exaggerate then so am I.
