With Emac, Redden, Sheed & Duggan all playing better than Lamb that wouldn't send a very good message to those players? Lamb needs to do a hell of a lot more if he wants a game.
Exactly. Good form in the WAFL needs to be consistent form before you get into this side. Redden has been consistent last few weeks. Sheed needs a few more weeks only had 20 possessions last week. No way Lamb is performing well enough to get a game.

What is this Mackenzie in for Brown stuff?

Brown is NOT playing down back. McGovern was sensational down back on the weekend, moving him would be stupid.

brown is NOT working and won't be playing fwd /ruck come finals, so why persist.

gov MIGHT work in that role and certainly won't be any worse than poor mitch. simmo has stated gov has been working with cox and i'd say they're not hanging out for fun and frozen yoghurts.

like i said, if mackenzie has found form he can play gov's role. he did it at an AA level two years ago.

why is everyone scared to try gov in another role?

But McKenzie isn't in form to justify being brought back.

I think Gov is too valuable to risk in the ruck, other than pinch hitting in the back line occasionally and Brown has been competing ok. Sure, he won't be there when NN is back, as we will have Lycett and NN. But for now, it seems the best option.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but i'd really like to see T.Lamb given at least one chance this year. Certain to leave in a couple of months, so we might as well get something (anything) out of that draft pick we wasted on him/her. This and the Demons game are our easiest in the run home, so they would be good opportunities to experiment with the lineup a bit. Would be such a shame to see him leave with just one game to his name.
Not unpopular at all. Couldn't agree more. He was singled out by the EP coach as being one of their best, so let's bring him in against the minnows and see what he's got

If Brown was playing down back I would 100% agree with you. But he is playing second ruck. Why move Gov from the position where he is dominating and so valuable for us? I don't think Emac could come in and play Gov's role anywhere near his level at this stage. Brown is playing ruck purely as a chop-out for Lycett. He did a serviceable job on the weekend, as good as could be expected... all he has to do is create a contest, not win. As soon as Nic Nat is back Brown will likely be out. Our defense looked the best it had all year on the weekend so change just for the sake of it sounds dangerous to me.

If argue that Brown did work on the weekend. Apart from one free kick in front of goals Goldstein had no influence on the match. Mackenzie's role is not the same as Guv's role anyway. More of a one on one defender whereas Guv tries to stay free a bit to come in and repel at every opportunity.

Yeah lets just drop someone who was in the best players
I am not fussed whether it is Hill or Le Cras that is rested, I would like to see an additional midfielder instead of a forward doing limited midfield rotations at the bigger MCG.

Le Cras' second half on Sunday was reasonably good, but not great. On balance in 2016, Le Cras has been fringe and has not delivered away from home. I believe the arrogance he displayed trying to dribble kick from 35 when almost directly in front says a lot about him and why I would send him back to EP to earn his spot back just like Redden has done.

Do you think he has earned his spot in the side or are you of the growing opinion he is living on past credits?

Spot on with Brown, he did his role on Goldie. Gov plays that patrolling CHB role so well. His marking is again the best at the moment and then you have the benefit of good decision making-good foot skills. I was of the opinion that I wanted to see more of him forward but starting to be swayed into the permanent CHB camp. I see both Brown and eMac playing more the lock down role and hence are competing with Barrass and Schofield for spots in defence.

i take your point.
i just feel like we're best served by getting ezy back in sooner rather than later, especially if hagdorn is on the money re: eric blitzing wafl these past weeks. and i'd rather brown out, barrass staying in, but clearly we won't be playing 4 tall backs. nicnat could be another month away. no harm in testing out gov in the role he's been preparing for etc...
anyway i'll leave it up to the wisdom of the match committee.

You don't really know (and none of us do) if both Nic & Lycett will be injury free come finals, so for the time being until Nic comes back I say persevere with Brown in the ruck. We may need him come finals time.

Also regarding McKenzie - Simmo has sent him back to regain confidence and also to master his game plan as before his injury the game plan has changed somewhat so what he was able to do pre injury means diddly squat!! Simmo knows what he's doing.

We could trial Gov in that role and leave Brown in the side playing down back, in case it doesn't work out or there's an injury. We did that a bit in the final quarter v Essendon.

I think EMac is competing with Schoey and Barrass for two spots.

man, mitch brown is still terribly overrated around here.
were you also one of the people arguing that mitch could play a lock-down role on small forwards?
nine years on the list and we've seen about 20 worthwhile performances, most of them coming in 2014 at chb.

if what he has put up the past 2 weeks is working for you then you really have lowered the bar.

he isn't anything like a ruckman and i honestly don't know how you could put goldstein's performance down to brown's. he got bathed at every contest, and that's not even goldy's strength. goldstein had an ordinary game because he isn't getting around the ground like he was for the first ten rounds (probably injured), not because of some mitch brown voodoo.

No way he gets dropped after that ^

There has been many players out of form this year, he has had his ups and downs but in my opinion is still clearly in the best 22 on form, of course proven players get more leeway, we are not in a rebuild where we play kids whether they are in form or not. He is class, has delivered on many occasions for us and deserves the right to fight his way back to form which I think he has in the last few weeks.

He didn't really try to dribble kick it , he miskicked it, it was a shocker but Brown did one from 60 and it worked, was anyone complaining?

From memory, he was well below his best.

Our second best according to voters. 16 possessions at 94% efficiency, 6 marks (4 contested), 9 one-percenters in 91% game time. Don't think he ws struggling
