Bit of a challenge this week I suspect for coaching panel.

Shaw, Rocca most probably back and you have Steele and Stanners going well in the VFL. Wood clearly getting better but was inj last week so wont be thought of.

For mine;

In: Shaw, Stanley, Sidebottom
Out: Toovey, Barham, Beams (inj)

I think we go better without Rocca and also the Saints are all about compressing and turning the ball over. Rocca cannot chase so his man becomes the obvious go thru player which would be S.Fisher (if fit) for the opposition. Love Rocca but modern game kills him.

If Medhurst doesnt come up then look at leaving in Barham or bringing Dick in albeit form been ordinary in VFL.

I think Medhurst will miss, as will Beams.

What I think will happen:

OUT: Medhurst, Beams.
IN: Shaw, [anyone but Stanley and Sidebottom].

In Sidebottom Shaw Dick
Out L Brown Macaffer Beams

I appreciate that L Brown is a crap ruckman but he does give Fraser a breather. Who do you suggest is going to help out Josh?

FWIW

In Shaw Stanley Bryan
Out Beams Macaffer L Brown

If Anthony gets suspended or Medhurst doesnt come up it will be a choice between Macaffer and Rocca. Probably Macaffer considering Bryan has been kicking goals in the seconds.

It hard to speculate on the ins and outs due to injuries. but the only person deserving a call up this week is danny stanley!!! (and thats not only because i have him in my DT)

whether or not he has the skills to make it at AFL level he deserves a call up and a few weeks to prove us wrong. I think we could be in for a bit of a suprise. Having 2 hard bodies around the packs will only help pendles even more.

I have a feeling that heath has a back related hammy so dont be surprised if he is missing again, if he does play he wont be at his best.

didak is out and i dare medders will miss too, which is a worry.

i think sidey deserves a go too, will be interesting to see if he can handle the saints pressure and keep his compusure.

I CANT WAIT FOR johnny mac to be fit!!!!!!!!

When will Didak be back?

I thought he would have played last Friday.

Tore his hamstring at Tuesday's training session, will miss at least the next 2 games.

As for ins and out, at the moment I would;

In: Sidebottom, Shaw

Out: McCaffer, Beams (inj)

Hopefully Medhurst comes up, and if Anthony gets rubbed out, McCaffer stays in.

Rocca needs form before playing against the top sides, a week at the VFL level should help that.

Why would you say that?
Toovey has been doing great this year.
In fact if you forget the 3 or 4 BAD/shocking games in his first year Toovey has been great.

In: Rocca, Stanley, Shaw
Out: J.Anthony (susp), McCaffer, Beams (inj)
yeah i would agree with that, possibly corrie out instead of Caff as well as corrie did play this weekend

OUT: Beams, Medhurst (only in not fit)
In: Shaw, Stanley/sidebottom (only if medhurst doesn't play)

"Whether it was Leigh Brown, Simon Prestigiacomo, Jack Anthony and Nathan Brown, all players who didn't have a lot of the ball, they certainly controlled their area, and when they needed to, they played particularly well."

Sounds like Mick was impressed with Leigh Brown.

Playing Rocca against Saints will be a disaster. He's a one-trick pony these days, with no tank, no chase and a turning circle bigger than most aircraft carriers. Fisher, Goddard and co will take him apart and kill us on the rebound. Mobility is a must against the Saints.

With Didak, JA, Rusling and Medders (probably) all out and Cloke horribly out of form, we are in deep trouble. We need to come up with something a bit unconventional. What about bringing in Bryan and permanently rotating him and Fraser through FF (i.e. BOTH play nearly 100% of the game, alternating in the ruck) and/or sticking Maxwell up forward? At least he'll make a contest all night long, or die trying. Or, for something really different, playing Dale Thomas as a fast-leading FF (in a Modra style)? Playing an unfit Rocca is predictable and guaranteed to end in defeat. If we're going to lose, why not experiment and possibly discover something new?

After JA's stupidity that has cost him a week, I would make/hope for the following changes;

In: Rocca, Shaw, Sidebottom
Out: Beams (inj), Medhurst (inj), Anthony (Stupidity)

If Medhurst is not 100% he should not be played, 6 day break to the Carlscum game, and we all know how much we want to beat them.

If Beams is out, Sidebottom seems like the logical replacement, seems that both in the one side wont fit at the moment, so gives Steele a chance for a game or two.

I know what you are saying and I have no doubt he will play for that reason but my answer would be Cloke. Particularly if Rocca plays and Anthony plays - although the latter looks less likely. Regardless I'd rather play a forward and give Cloke a run ion the ruck. It might even run him into form.
