True, but you'd think that that particular game would be a 'free hit' given the gap in ladder position between us and the rest - especially if we get the chocolates against the scum.
Also, it would be a good opportunity to manage others for the shorter turnarounds coming. I suspect we'd want to be as well placed - personnel-wise - as can be heading into the last four rounds. Get battle hardened for finals with a relatively fresh team.
Just seen a crazy stat on the Carlton/Collingwood "rivalry". The past 22 games the win count is Collingwood 18, Carlton 4. We need better arch rivals. Might have share this with our beloved Carlton supporters

Second best percentage in the comp is disappointing. We should be busting a gut to win every H&A match by the maximum margin. What's the point of conserving energy? How has that ever helped win a Premiership?Itās been awful hasnāt it?
Saints aren't great but they're not the ByeI was actually more Worried last Week vs Eagles because of Marvel and coming off a Bye
Close wins in previous years, yes. Not this year so much. But that's the exception to our usual outcomes and has been for a while.
True. Cats are a genuine chance to finish top. Our goal would be to lock in top two. Finishing first is a bonus, but second is fine. Win at least 3 of our next 4 and we look very good for top two.As good as our current position is it shouldn't be ignored that we still have 5 games to come against teams currently sitting 2nd to 8th.
Those are Gold Coast (A), Fremantle, Brisbane, Hawthorn and Adelaide (A).
If you take into account that GC still have a game in hand that they're very likely to win (against Essendon) then you have 5 teams we'll face currently sitting 10 to 12 pts behind.
Win the majority and sure top position should be a lock but lose a couple of what are essentially you're classic 8pt games then suddenly top 2 could be put at risk.
In comparison someone like Geelong doesn't play a single team currently inside the top 8 in the final eight weeks and only away games against the Giants and Sydney (should they continue to improve and play out the season) project as potential danger games.
Surprisingly our percentage this year is still slightly below 2023 at the same stage.Close wins in previous years, yes. Not this year so much.
Chalk āem up for 5, you reckon? 4?Ah yep, fair shout. Forgot how good he was.
He kicked 2 of their 6 goals...that's probably not going to happen again.
Which always surprises me when I see that comparison as I definitely know my heart rate & blood pressure is much lower at our games this year than it was during 2023Surprisingly our percentage this year is still slightly below 2023 at the same stage.

Thatās interesting about Geelong not facing a top 8 side in the last 8 weeks of the season. How on earth do they get away with such an easy draw, and why arenāt people upset about it?If we had a draw like that people would be literally frothing at the mouth about it.As good as our current position is it shouldn't be ignored that we still have 5 games to come against teams currently sitting 2nd to 8th.

15 minutes to goShouldn't team have already been released tonight? Or am I getting the timing wrong?
The poster I replied to wanted to rest 6 players for the Suns game. I prefer any management of players is staggered, not manage half a dozen for one match. We would be. We have all of The Lions, Adelaide and Hathorne in three of the last four weeks. Perfect opportunity now for managing personnel and building against quality opposition.
They were within a few minutes of playing in the bloody grand final! We finished out of the eight. It really pisses me off as Geelong has the luxury of resting players and coasting through most of the remaining games, many of which will be on their home shithole. But you are right- there's barely been a whimper from anyone-not even opposition supporters. We clearly are regaining the reputation for being the most hated club.Thatās interesting about Geelong not facing a top 8 side in the last 8 weeks of the season. How on earth do they get away with such an easy draw, and why arenāt people upset about it?If we had a draw like that people would be literally frothing at the mouth about it.

Carlton are the worst team at handling pressure in the AFL.
We apply the heat and they crumble and kick the ball straight to us.
Houston should and needs to have a big game with the amount of backhalf turnovers we'll get, he needs to start providing some rebound.
