Almost inclined to give Cameron a freshen up soon.
Looks quite sore.
Maybe play with Cox this week against Freo as have 2 rucks.
Have a rest against Rich and Lions.
Cox and maybe Steene against Big O and Fort.
Come back fresh for Hawks.

Watching on TV at a pub so I can't be 100% but gee I thought Mitchell was ordinary tonight, especially in the first half, I thought it showed where he was at against very good opposition, not comparing it against Long as I didn't notice him as much, just my thought without a replay
I thought he had no impact too and he’s just too slow. He played ok but I don’t see what he brings as a net value.?

He was Rowell’s most direct opponent and got slaughtered in the head to head measure.

TBH, I think we were trying to judge a few things in this game.
We have Titch, Long, allan, Roan, all vying for midfield positions...
Think tonight was a test run for Titch and Roan.
Wanted to see Roan and Titch again, against high pressure opposition.

Next week I'm sure we will see Allan in to check him out.
Wonderful to see Cox play well.

Great to have him up our sleeve as well. I would play him again next week. I think it is true that Darcy Cameron struggles in ruck contests against very tall ruckmen. Cox might yet prove handy in some games.

He was okay, but not among our best.

Is Long's decline because of Titch?

Can we keep playing both?
On tonight's form, can we play either? They were a cut below the GC mids tonight.

I think Long suffered with Pendles being sub. He got lumped with the defensive role and couldn't do it. His best form earlier in the year was when hunting.

Spot on. I thought Cox was a far better proposition against Witts as he is against Gawn.

Against Darcy/Jackson I would expect Cox to hold his spot... could see us considering giving Membrey a rest, although he was fine tonight.

Lippa and Checkers are the two easy ins, McCreery was listed as 1-2, so would suspect he's not quite ready yet.
Hoping for Bobby but obviously we're all unsure what is happening there.

With Howe likely to miss I would say we're forced to pick Dean also.

In: Lipinski, Mihocek, Hill (hopeful), Allan, Dean
Out: Howe (inj), Membrey (managed), Markov, Steele, Sullivan (keeps his spot if Bobby is out)

WHE sub - he was awful tonight but is someone the coaches have shown a lot of faith in, and can fill a number of roles.

B: Quaynor, Moore, Maynard
HB: Houston, Dean, Perryman
C: Crisp N Daicos Sidebottom
HF: Lipinski McStay Schultz
F: Hill Mihocek Elliott
R: Cameron Pendlebury J Daicos
I: Cox Long Mitchell Allan
S: WHE

Is Long's decline because of Titch?

Can we keep playing both?
I feel like he is definitely impacting Long negatively. The last two weeks have been the same. I don't think we can play both long term, probably why people see that its Long v Mitchell for one position.
Will be interesting how they address this.

Think we need to not overract to what was HOPEFULLY an anomaly game.

Cox can’t stay if MMM all play. We tried that. It’s too top heavy. He warrants another game but would need to be without one of MMM or without Cameron. Can’t play them all.

WHE it pains me to say, looks done at the moment. Can’t play him.

Allan was building well and needs to come back in now. He’ll likely be playing in finals. Roan will be a player but I’ll back in Allan for now.

Mitchell is important for finals footy but hard to know if we can fit him in still. He and Long were ok last week but this week, hard to say if it can work to play both.

Pendles is ridiculously important to us. Probably more than we care to admit. He changed the game when he’s come on. Long was lost without him I think.

Lippa should be back. Need his elite ball use.

McCreery a chance? Hopefully! Can use him in a few centre bounces again.

Josh needs to have more midfield time.

Nick is carrying too many niggles I reckon. Would want to see him get a refresher before finals. Richmond game is probably when unless forced earlier.

Howe is a massive loss now to a depleted backline. How far off is big Bill now?

Anyway as I started, don’t want to overreact to one loss, where we lost by inaccurate kicking at goal in the end.

It’s not Mitchell’s fault Long had no composure ball in hand.

Long's composure was lacking; that's not on Mitchell.

With Mitchell in, we have 2 slow players capable of the 1 job. Is there room for both in the best line-up?

What sucks, we have 9 days off a loss before we can rectify it!

But the 9 days is so welcome at the same time. Hopefully Howe is minor and he’s right still.

Nick could use 9 days I’m sure.

Checkers and Lippa get 9 days now until we’ll see them back. Maybe why this game was chosen to sit them out. They’ll not have played for 16 days. That’s definitely a good refresher.

Pendles at managed minutes. Now gets 9 days.

The whole side has 9 days for them to all get over this flu or whatever has gone through the place.

Cameron has looked banged up since before the bye. He could handle 9 days break.

9 more days for McCreery to get right. He was 1-2 weeks on the last injury list, so could be ready by Sunday next week.

Big Bill can’t get back soon enough. He’s still a couple away.

That was the absence of Pendlebury I think. The guidance and direction he brings, calms his teammates. It concerns me come finals where composure is key, that we are very Pendlebury reliant. We need him fit and firing in finals.

Collingwood's 2nd half is proof of how important Pendles is.

Pendles steadied the ship and Josh's last quarter nearly won it. They were last night's standouts.

Inject 3-4 of Checkers, Beau, Bobby, Lippa, Frampton, & JDG into that line-up and it's a comfortable 5 goal victory. More if we kick straight.

Just to clarify Long lacking composure could be both a Mitchell or a Pendles problem? I think it’s more likely that Long has always lacked composure and just got caught out last night…

It’s a Long problem. But it seems he is more confident with the calming guidance of Pendles by his side. That’s my observation.
