I haven’t read anything in the rules about an exemption process. I have read the rule regarding how a medical sub is activated by the Club Medical Officer. That reads to me as the protection mechanism. The doc has to reasonably determine that the player is likely to miss 12 days.

On that basis I reckon that Sier was suffering something other than the garden variety “gastro”.

Why phase out Madgen? He hasn't had a lot of footy in recent years having concentrated on basketball, and he seems to be improving.

Yep, gets to a total of 25 career senior games, has his best ever performance, and people want him dropped/phased out.... go figure....

Fair enough. It’s been an incredibly disappointing time to be a Collingwood supporter.
My hope now is that we put results aside and try and play an attacking style and bring through our youth.

Really? Disappointing? Senior AFL list finally refreshed, VFL about to start with a lot of new and exciting kids to show their wares, AFLW team makes a highly improbable PF, VFLW side kicking goals.... some people are just hard to please.
