Ask finbarr HaroldOliver El_Scorcho sorry Nick can't remember your handle. I'm positive they would confirm his form has been average

SANFL form is irrelevant. Kern's annual mid-May iPhone reminder went off today reminding him to put O'Shea back into the team, sit back and enjoy the dominance.

Ah Chee:

BRENDON Ah Chee will play a full game this weekend, but it will be in the SANFL Showdown against the Crows on Sunday.

Substitute last week against the Eagles, Ah Chee has been solid as the Power’s 22nd player.

But by wearing the green vest each week – often coming on in the second half – his opportunities to play a full game are limited.

It’s why he’s been put into the Magpies line-up to play the Crows this week, according to Port Adelaide’s senior coach Ken Hinkley.

“He’s not in the team mainly because we need to give him some full game time, we weren’t convinced we could fit him into our starting 21,” Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“He’s had only full game in the last four weeks, which we know isn’t in his football interests.”

It’s a tricky logistical situation for the Port match committee to work through, with the entire SANFL competition having a bye for the game against the WAFL next week.

So if he was selected as this week’s AFL substitute, Ah Chee would potentially only register one full game in a six-week block - against Woodville-West Torrens two weeks ago.

“We’re also mindful too that the Magpies have a bye for the state game next week, so we need to make sure we give him that chance when we can,” Hinkley said.

Cameron O’Shea, Jarman Impey and Karl Amon are the inclusions into this weekend’s Power team.

Sorry if its already been mentioned

I assume that means O'Shea will come straight into the starting 21 in a pseudo-tall back role in place of Carlile and Amon will be sub.

Sorry, I like to see some form and domination at the lower league to justify selection. Let's pluck Butch out too whilst we are at as it's his time to shine. I wish O'Shea well and I thought he would be in, not at the expense on a guy deserving a full game opportunity.

Really tough on Arch, just feels like he hasn't been given a proper opportunity at AFL level and the glimpses he has shown have been great - that handball......

Brilliant to see Amon rewarded!! All the best Karlos

How many tall forwards to Brisbane have? Hombsch will play FB, Trengove CHB and Jonas or O'Shea third tall depending on match-ups.

We arguably carry four key defenders in our regular first 18, which doesn't become a huge issue due to Jonas' flexibility. As a result, we can cover Carlile fairly readily, particularly against a team with no dangerous tall forwards.

We don't have Polec or Wines, and we have dropped Young. We have several players who appear to be out of form and show little enthusiasm on the field. From what we have seen of Ah Chee, though, he looks like he belongs at AFL level and plays like someone who wants to be there. He is not a draftee with one pre-season under his belt; he could easily have slotted into our starting 21 and played a full game against Brisbane this week.

The only thing unconvincing is the faith shown in him by selectors, particularly given the promise he has finally begun to show.

FishingRick04, I assume you mean myself as that Nick. Hahaha, as for the comments on O'shea, yeah, I haven't seen him really perform that well this season and he didn't even play last week. I think dropping Ah Chee is a bit of a cop out, and think he deserves a chance to get that "Full Game" IN the AFL, because he's being doing great stuff in the time he has been on field. Impey and Amon are justifiable in being selected too, they have been playing very consistent, skilled footy!

Yep surprising selections, O'Shea's form at SANFL level hasn't been anything spectacular just like last season. And just like last year I'm hoping this will correlate into good form at AFL level now Cam has been selected.

Gotta admit, I hope you are right. I can see he is in just to do a straight Carlile replacement, so I hope he steps up this week. Keep their forwards to 0 goals ;)

He's getting almost the softest opponent to find form. Hence why I'm frustrated arch didn't get that luxury.
I can see where you're coming from Boss but there's no doubt Arch's position on the list is somewhat more secure compared to the beginning of the season. He's young and I'm more than confident his time will come.

Ah chee out is not a massive loss. He's been energetic and given his all as a sub but I think the main indicator is his fitness. Its supposed to be a scorcher on sunday in Brisbane and arch has only played as sub so he wouldn't be conditioned to play a full game further it wouldn't be suitable for him to play as a sub again. We already know ken doesn't like the same person as sub for consecutive games. Good to see amon in was always going to debut with polly out.

As for those asking who brisbanes tall forwards are:
Harris Andrews - 200cm 92 kgs been in good form who looked pretty athletic and can clunk a mark so hombsch should be the match up here
Matthew Leunberger- 203cm 100kg Tall lump sit in goal square type. Trengove plays infront easy blanketing
Daniel McStay- 194cm 89kg- most athletic out of the three, may play back to curb our talls but has been used forward for the majority of the year. O'Shea sounds like the perfect match up though hombsch can get the job here aswell.

If they throw in a curve ball- Marco paparone- 194 87kgs been playing back but might want to "stretch" our defence. Has a good tank so o'shea could go here aswell as jonas

Ah Chee dropped is bullshit. It's not like O'Shea and Amon are in blistering SANFL form to push him out either.

Who are our inside mids? No Wines, Young, Moore or Ah Chee. Boak is gonna have sore shoulders on Monday from all the carrying of the midfield he'll have to do. Arrogant selections IMO.

Was set up to be a breakout game for Ah Chee. Seething about this. Can't think of a dumber drop in the Hinkley era.
