Why would you drop Mutimer and bring in Karpany. Is his form better than Mutimer's??

Read my post again.

If Mutimer isn't 100% then get some fresh legs in. If Mutimer is 100% he holds his spot.

Kid just played his first two games in a row and his first game interstate. How is his body holding up to AFL footy? It is a big step up from WAFL and he copped a knock on the knee two games ago.

I reckon you guys are all out of your minds. Everyone knows that the key to playing the Bulldogs at Subiaco is ruckmen, ruckmen and more ruckmen. It doesn't matter that they are only playing Boyd in the ruck, we need to double down and really press home our ruck advantage.

Out: Mutimer

Time to unleash Simon the Hybrid Tunbridge. He would crunch Libba straight through the turf like it was Dragon Ball Z, then fend off some mofos and we would all be in awe of the potential shown by his 12 disposals.

Out Hutchings
In Tunbridge

Don't even care if he doesn't have functional knee ligaments yet.

Since Mitchell has come in the side if its not him someone is coming off the defensive square and adding an extra player to the 4 at centre bounces . The Port game this extra man wasnt manned up by port until the 6th centre bounce in that 1st qtr . Remember Lecca scoring that goal running in from the defensive side . Getting the extra man to the contest is the go and we need to win contested ball against the dogs or match them .

I like the sound of that but curious who drops out of the regular 22 players ..

Haha, yeah it's probably unrealistic to fit all of them in at once. I guess what I mean is that most of them in, and the rest rotating through as emergencies when form drops off.

Our elimination final team could look like:

B: Nelson - Barrass - Sheppard
HB: Hurn - McGovern - Yeo
C: Gaff - Priddis - Duggan
HF: Cripps - Darling - Venables
F: LeCras - Kennedy - Hill

R: Naitanui - Shuey - Mitchell
I: Sheed - Cole - Wellingham - Masten

E: Vardy - Mutimer - Watson

I'm all for leaving Mutimer in the side for now but I suspect Cole will be able to contribute better at AFL level in the short term so that's why he is the one to miss out.

That midfield probably lacks a defensive edge which is why one of Redden or Hutch will likely be left in but I'd rather Mutimer be developed in that defensive role.

My major concern is our lack of SWERVABILITY against the SWERVALICIOUS handball throwing dogs ........

Good attempt
But
Where oh where's Willie Rioli ..

Watched the replat closely. Vardy was good forward and his work directly led to 2 goals - he stays. Giles is just a battering ram and shouldnt be required against the dogs. Depending on what they bring over - Giles for duggan.

Be interesting to see if the club is actually brave enough to just go in with the one ruck. Given what happened last time we did this, i doubt they have the stones to do it again. Big Tom Boyd the overrated hack is going to scare them into a selection mistake.

From what Simmo was saying on 6pr i think they will wait to see who the Bullies bring in. I mean if they are going to go with Boyd and Lin Jong as ruck i think we will drop Giles and use Darling /Gov to pinch hit.

I don't think it's a good idea to remove gov from the backline at all, not unless we're ten goals and we want him to try enjoy himself for the last quarter, or we're down by 10 goals and struggling to score, or jjk (god forbid) goes down with an injury.

How will Vardy work his magic up forward if Giles isn't rucking?
Having one ruck will have repercussions to our forward setup. With Cripps already out that will be compounded further.
JJK will be triple teamed to no end.

I'm of the view there is no reason (unless Priddis is not playing) that we should play both of Redden and Hutchings, and as such, Redden is the superior player and should be picked.

Hutchings out.

Sure, on paper Redden is the superior player. But in reality, Hutch has done a lot more for this side than Redden. Hutch stays for me. Redden out. Duggan in.

Playing the team roles and structures seems to be appreciated by few. Everyone wants a team full of highlight reel players it seems.

No one is suggesting Giles is a Lycett calibre player but he is what we have to work with. Axing him because Paddy Ryder made him look daft around the ground is hyper-reactionary. We lost the centre clearances by 1 and we scored 5 goals from 11 centre clearances. Why change something that isn't broken?

Giles has a value against the bigger lumbering type rucks like Sandilands and Jacobs. In hindsight he'd have been better against McEvoy than Vardy was. Against jumping, more mobile rucks like Ryder he struggles.

Boyd is a bit on an in between ruck and the question should we play one ruck is whether Giles likely win in the ruck is going to be of more value than Vardy's work on the ground after the ruck contest and in general play

I lean slightly towards Vardy because he's more effective around the ground and Giles main value winning the hitouts against the Bulldogs is of dubious benefit

Really interested to see how we line up on Friday
