I'm not the biggest Toumpas fan, but he was rushed in last week at the last minute, maybe a week of targeted training will help.

Toumpas is a wingman at AFL level, we don't have another unless you want to rip Brad out of the middle (which would be stupid) or have Hartlett playing even worse then Toumpas does on the wing (which would be even more stupid).

It's between Toumpas and Drew and Drew isn't ready.

Really disappointing the backwards step Young has taken this year though. He started showing some elite traits last year, with an ability to win contests and create opportunities out of nowhere.

Unfortunately instead of continuing that trend he now joins the long list of fringe players that we've seen glimpses from one year before they fall away the next year.

We desperately need to start turning some of these fringe players into something special or we'll never go anywhere. S Gray, Young, AhChee, Toumpas, etc. We need to turn this group into consistent AFL players. Do that and we're a shot at the big show.

Retrospectively last year Young probably got a lot of goals from joe the jenkins', this year for whatever reason we aren't playing that sort of high risk football that results in goals like that as often(for either team). At least that's how it feels.

However even his around the ground stuff has fallen away. Personally I think we need the 18 years to stand up I would prefer pumping them up over trying too much longer with the 22 yo plodders although we have to win games too.

I get it but I disagree with you and think your arguments are flawed as to who we can play where.

It is not between Toumpas and Drew at all. Especially if you have seen past selections where we swap smalls and talls in and out of the team and shuffle players around.

I think many players (or combination of players throughout a match) can play wing better than Toumpas. Impey Boak Wingard Pittard Johnson.. even Bonner, would all offer more than Toumpas. Playing any of those there would not affect our core midfield or forward line set-ups.
