Gorringe
Shaw
Matera
McKenzie
Garlett (not sub)
Hall (as sub)

Out:
Harbrow
Ablett
Day
Hallahan
Sexton

I think Day really needs to go back to the NEAFL to gain some skills and confidence. He's been useless. Gorringe is not much better, but we need another tall to replace Day. I'd move Kade to the backline and put Shaw back on the wing. As for Hall, I'd like to see him back, but as sub. Doesn't deserve the spot in the 22 just yet, but he could help us out if it's close in the 4th quarter.

I know we are supposedly taking it easy with Wright but there are examples of guys playing from the outset that have developed well Lynch, Daniher, Cameron, Franklin, Roughhead.

I am not saying thatWright should be treated the same but considering Day and Gorringe have both been busts perhaps a game or 2 is worth trying?

has rocket got a problem with matera must come in this week as a small forward Geelong don't cope well with good fast small forward s.

And sorry to say,,, (as I have said for the past 2 seasons) , Sam Day continues to be a non contributer... how the hell does he continue to keep his place in the ones,.!!!
His skills are superior to Gorringe/Nicholls

Day isn't a dud

Gee and to think some of you guys want Aaron hall back in the team this week. Take a look at this footage from Suns training today.
He still can't hit a target from 25 meter away under no pressure whatsoever

the title of this thread says.changes v geelong.
well we all know im a hawks fan, but one major difference between the hawks and the suns is the movement around a contested fight around a ground ball and how the ball is released.
The hawks have moving team mates circulating around the ball and players whom are ready to receive the ball, running on to the ball in effect.
while the suns from last week end seem to stand around waiting for a crisply passed ball to land in their hands. They seemed like they had no real attitude to win that ball and turn it into a forward motion. I replayed the suns game before watching the hawks game and , I can say, this was something that punched you in the freekin nose that you couldn't miss it. I think currently the suns lack a mongrel who is willing to go into a ruck and to come out with the ball nearly every time.

fix this and the changes will only be due to injuries

bag me if you think I am stepping over the line here but that's my observation. win the ugly stuff and the glory will come

Just watched the Suns vs. Saints replay from start to finish, and the comparison between our fourth quarter and our first three is huge. Our accuracy was shocking. We finished with SIXTEEN behinds. If every shot on goal resulted in the 6 points, we'd have won by 42 points. Even if every St Kilda shot on goal resulted in the 6 points too, Suns would have won 156 - 144; 12 points.

Despite our bloody terrible everything, we had so many shots on goal it wasn't funny. We just need to convert those behinds into goals.

We've seen what we did against Geelong in the NAB Challenge without Gaz, and we know we've got it in us. Without Harbrow, Stanley, Dixon, Gaz, Jaeger, and Hallahan, it'll be difficult. But we didn't have Dixon, Gaz, or Jaeger in the Nab Challenge either.

This game is definitely winnable. I'm writing it off as a loss, but it should be a close one imo.

Geelong realistically should only win by a couple of goals, max.

They will realistically win by about 40 points. And that is an improvement on last week

Mumford instead of Malceski would of been delicious...
As good as Malceski was last year.. Our run from defence wasnt all that bad... And got a heap of young attacking half backs..
Oh well...

Daniher is an exception. Father-Son rule and he was training with the club before he was drafted so he knew the game plan, was playing with a finals contending team under a premiership coach in Hird.
