Norf are running hot and will be hard to beat

I expect that coaches have done everything in their power to get players heads right for this game
We have shown that we have the ability ( ranked number 1 in disposal efficiency over the first 6 or so rounds this year)

Unfortunately as happens with young sides we have recently fallen to near last in disposal efficiency in the past 6 or thereabouts

Apart from injuries, most of our woes occur above the shoulders

Lets hope coaches have righted this - we desperately need to win this game

Just as an aside... big ask 2nd game back for Kel Moore, as a key defender tomorrow.
Pressure game, big game at the MCG against a team that can hammer it into their forward 50 very quickly.

Good luck Kel... I have faith!

How I see them lining up:

B: Morris Rance Post
F: Thomas Petrie Tarrant

HB: Houli Moore Newman
HF: Harvey Hansen Adams

C: Grigg Cotchin Deledio
C: Bastinac Cunnington Anthony

HF: Martin Edwards Conca
HB: Wright Firrito Thompson

F: McGuane Riewoldt Nahas
B: McMahon Grima Atley

R: I.Maric Tuck Jackson
R: Goldstein Swallow Wells

INT: Dea Ellis O'Hanlon A.Maric
INT: MacMillan Harper Campbell Gibson

- I expect Rance to play as a zone full back. Attempt to isolate Moore and Post as often as possible.
- Bastinac and Anthony to make Grigg and Deledio accountable
- Attempt to get Harvey on to Houli and expose him going the other way
- Wright to pick up Martin when he goes forward
- Grima to Reiwoldt. McMahon/Thompson to assist
- Atley to Nahas
- I expect Jackson to pick up Wells

you must have a good handle on things dude. I mean going on your previous "this is how i see them lining up", you have Firrito lining up at CHB on Edwards who is one of the top CHFs in the comp. ;)

I know these positions mean little these days, but Edwards at CHF for us? On Firrito? Personally I'd play Post at CHF, and Edwards HFF/FP with McGuane back... but wouldn't be surprised if the coaches instead go with Post back and McGuane forward.

Niorth play a zone defence so if Richmond choose to play Edwards at CHF then so be it. Our back six will still retain their shape.

I don't have a clue what Richmond are going to do with McGuane either.

Why?

Because of Richmonds team selection?
naaa more about the Roos Emergencies....our line up is locked in, the emergencies are purely there because we needed to fill in something. Yours however show that there is something cooking. Especially with a Pederson there.

There's an open training session at Arden Street @ 11:30 so we may know more then.

I figure the Richmond selectors will be watching closely before finalising the Coburg side to play at 1:10.

My main concern is that we appear to be going in one midfielder too light.

Otherwise, i'm happy with our forward and defensive structures.

Pederson has been named in the emergiencies for a month and has been dominating in the VFL.

In terms of our nominated senior line up, tipping the only thing they will be watching, if they do watch its more about how Petrie moves. I dont think the selected line up will change for us.

Agreed. We're already scraping the bottom of a shallow barrel. Not like there's much scope to rejig our line-up, regardless of how NM line up on the day. Shame Griffiths is injured. I reckon he would've potentially been the best match up for Petrie (if he plays), in terms of size at least.

It wouldn't surprise me if Scott left them in the sheds regardless of whether they are going to play.

I really think we will be up massively for the game and overrun them by 6 goals +

News -----Miller out playing for coburg with angus and dx No hope now :)

Even if Petrie plays, he should be underdone.
Because kicking 7 goals last week means he will be underdone? Yep. Gotchya.
(I do know what you mean, with regards to perhaps being underdone as far as training goes this week, but the players are at their peak fitness now and a week off from training would do more good than harm.)

Id rather Petrie play, If we ever want to be a finals contender we need to beat sides at full strength. Petrie always plays well against us and Id automatically say he will kick 4 plus. Does not say that means they win the game either. Post will play as a swingman, he will be back/forward/ruck.

McGuane hasn't put a foot wrong in the two games as a 2nd/3rd tall so far, infact I think hes been pretty impressive. Tackles, chases, has kicked 2 nice snap goals actually using his brain and thinking about the kick. You can tell he feels comfortable up forward. FFS we now have a guy who can actually CLUNK a CONTESTED MARK.

Match Ups

Rance - Petrie
Moore - Tarrant
Dea/Post Hansen
Houli - Harper
Morris - Harvey
Newman - Thomas

Cotch- Swallow
Lids- Wells
Tuck- Anthony

Jackson to make Firrito accountable ( I can't see who Jacko would tag for noth, Too slow for wells.)

Riewoltd- Grima
McGuane- Thompson

He's been injured all week. Don't think he will be fully fit.

Petrie and Adams both trained strongly.

I see Browne isn't out there for Coburg. A possible late inclusion for Maric?

$10,000 fine if we do. Can't see it happening, sorry.

wondering if we might make a late change with webberley not playing for coburg. just on the key talls - our overlooking of Post for games v dees and gc suggested to me that in 2012 he is a backman and backup for rance and griffiths. In 2012 McGone is a KP forward. Don't think it makes much sense to be switching McG back to KPD at this stage of season or similarly playing Post as KPF. Moore is backup for Grimes as 3rd defensive tall. So now with Griffiths injured, Post is getting a gig. He'll take a key tall forward for Norf. In summary:
Ist KPD Tall - Rance (backup Post, Astbury)
2nd KPD Tall - Griff (backup Post; Grimes at a pinch)
3rd KPD Tall - Grimes (backup Moore; Batch at a pinch)
