AFL Club
Geelong
Other Teams
Washington Wizards
OUTS - Kane Tenace (Inj. Knee), Steven King (Inj. Calf)
INS - David Wojcinski, Matthew McCarthy

Whilst many Cats fans would be calling for many more, I doubt that its going to happen personally speaking.

Turbo is gone, and Kingy looks doubtful at this stage. King's omision results in Otto being needed in the ruck, which calls for Kingsley, Playfair to be retained in the side as tall forwards. If King isn't injured - then Kingsley or Playfair should go at his expense to bring in McCarthy for a game.

Wojcinski in for Tenace - Turbo's injury saves David Johnson from a free-falling Axe

Thoughts?

I like your train of thought.

Stokes and Callan would be close IMO.

With Mooney doubtful, i would also consider bringing Mr Bean back into the side.

Some fair points there boys, i would be bringing Burna and Wojcinski in to replace D.Johnston and Tenace. To keep Kingsley and Playfair in the team is very much rewarding mediocracy. Bring McCarthy in for Playfair. If King`s out we have to play Blake, im not real happy about that but we have no other choice.

kingsley for either nath or lonergan i know what your thinking nath isnt ready and lonergan isnt all that good but kingsley is the worst full forward in the league a spell in the two's could really help us long term
other changes
playfair - mccharthy
tenace - stokes
hunt - callan
mackie - mooney if hes injured
blake - KING of injurys dont like it either but what choice do we have?
dj - wojcinski

Out: Tenace (injury), Hunt, Kingsley
In: Wojcinski, Callan, Ablett or McCarthy.

I love Hunt, but he has been one of the more expensive of our poor players lately and I think he is also the kind of player who will actually get a wake-up call from a short spell in the VFL. I believe Hunt would be hungry to get back, and find form through desire. Kingsley? Well, I don't know if he has enough passion to find form or get a wake-up call, but he has been of little value. I know the delivery into the forward line hasn't been great, but Kingsley simply cannot take a mark unless it comes straight at his chest. Wojcinski adds pace, and Byrnes has got to be close to getting another run shortly.

I also reckon it would be worth putting Ling forward. His possessions have been junk but at least he's getting them. So put him forward to take marks and try to get the ball to our CHF or FF.

Just some ideas.

Agree,

However i think the axe will fall on D. Johnson. With Mackie taking his place. Has served 5 weeks in the VFL and after 5 goals and BOG, surely must come in.

Would luv to see Stokes make debut. Saw him play in Darwin as a 16 year old, and is a real talent. Suprised he wasn't drafted alot earlier in his career (was named u18 All Aust as a 16 yo). Anyway, was glad to hear his name called out at last years draft.

He could bring that unpredictability and excitement we are seriously lacking...

Only a rough guess at this early stage:

OUT: King and Tenace (both injured)
IN: Mackie and Byrnes

Mackie - BOG in VFL, 5 goals. Byrnes - in the best, 4 goals (so how many behinds did he get?).
Lonergan may be close, but considering his last AFL outing, it's not likely. Plus, Mackie would come in over him because of more experience.
Wojcinski was also named in the best and is close to being recalled again. It depends on how many injuries we get from the Collingwood game, but there might also be plenty of axings too.

In: Mackie N Ablett McCarthy Wocjinski Byrnes Stokes Callan
Out : King Tenace D Johnson S Johnson Kingsley Playfair Hunt

Callan Scarlett Egan
Milburn Harley Wocjinski
Enright Bartel Corey
Kelly Mooney Chapman
N Ablett McCarthy G Ablett
Ottens Ling Rooke
Riccardi Stokes Byrnes Mackie

You can't just wash away the loss.

People must hurt.

Don't bring Kingsley and Playfair back until they are fully fit and playing well.

I would love to see that happen but i highly doubt 7 changes. S.Johnson to stay in, Byrnes needs more form.

Couldn't agree more about an earlier point about Ling forward.

Let's be prepared to shake things up a little, put G.A. and Chapman on the ball for 75% gametime, have Ling, Bartel, Mackie, Hunt, Playsoft, and Otto in the forward area - Otto and Ling out of the square, Playsoft 45m out and Mackie and Hunt leading out of the 50m and Bartel crumbing.

Back six - Scarlo, Egan, Harley, Enright, Callan, and Milburn.

O/B's - Starting in the middle - King(or Blake pending injury), Mooney, Chapman, Ablett. Runners - Kelly, Corey.

Bench - (something like) SJ, Brynes, Rooke , Ricco.

Go Catters - I'm still a little numb though.

The Cats lack of run is obvious for all to see.

The side is too tall and too slow. There is no run off half back and the midfielders can't get near it. Of course you look slower when you're chasing, so, the first thing to fix is winning the ball in the midfield.

Let's assume King, Mooney and Tenace are all out through injury.

Surely, Byrnes, Mackie and Wojak must be included.

Ling is too slow to last in the midfield and either has to be switched to HB and play behind the ball or go forward.

And why aren't Ablett and Chapman spending more time on the ball?!?

They must go into the middle. Win the ball, get it out to Corey, Kelly, Bartel, Byrnes and Wojak to run with it and deliver it forward.
Kingsley is never gonna be taking pack marks so, they must hit him on the lead. Playfair only has to compete in the air and throw Mackie and Johnson down there to clean up.

Let Rooke and Enright run off HB. Even use Riccardi out wide to run past and pinpoint passes forward. Agree that D Johnson and J Hunt are problems, but, the ball keeps getting dumped on their head with monotonous regularity due to the underperforming midfield.

Scarlett, Harley and Milburn all play tall. Leave Egan on the bench as a backup. Maybe DJ and Hunt can sit there with him.

Change Ottens and Playfair in the ruck.

Now, go out there and belt Richmond!

I think bring Gary Ablett Snr back into the line up... He would still get a kick against the tigers.
The Tigers fans would still have scars from GOD!

Out - King, Tenace
In - Blake, Mackie

Monica should play, but that makes too much sense for our crappy match selection committee.

Out: Kingsley, Playfair, Tenace, King

In: N.Ablett, M.McCarthy, Stokes, Blake

N.Ablett is the future of the club. Throw him in the deep end. It worked well last year. He enjoys playing at the cattery, so give him the next 2 weeks, one out in the goal square.

I know for a fact that the 3 guys coming in are: Wojcinski/Mackie and Byrnes

I don't think that was hard to work out.
Another scoop for you bee dee - Tenace will make way for one of them.

p.s Don't tell anyone I gave you that info or my source will be revealed.

Not many people have been suggesting that Shannon would go in, which is why I questioned him.
