Beggers belief Sam isnt getting more attention. Sam is a better defender than forward for mine. His work late in the year for the VFL side was terrific. We talk Magden but to be fair whilst he is v physical he offers nothing offensively. I am missing something.

McLarty is the better bet.

Varcoe is seriously going backwards.
For mine, he doesn't fill a purpose or need anymore.
He has no scoreboard impact.

It's like playing someone in the midfield and giving them all the midfield minutes and they can't rack up any meaningful touches.

Fas should be in the side well ahead of Varcoe.

I would still have Varcoe before a Mayne, just for the knock on Prestia and smother for goal.

Chases harder and is a better link and at least picks up a player and doesn't stand 10 metres off them minding space which we haven't done in over two years...

See above. I was surprised at how well he went, and continued to go.

Yeah I got that, I'm just surprised you were surprised. I was expecting that kind of performance from him.

I've seen Magden about 6 times live this year. He is decent and I wish him all the best.
I would say he doesn't have the run and drive you would really hope for. He seems to be a very old fashioned defender. That's ok and we don't really have any other options.

On Reid and playing defence. I hate it. So before all these Injuroes this year I know it's hard to remember way back but Reid was poor. He is terribly slow with his ball movement, he is a mark and go back over the mark kinda player. And tbh he was turning it over alot aswell. We have moved on from that sideways slow play Reid produces.

Forward or nothing for me.

Is that surprising to you? I know I’m pretty shocked a first year cat b rookie isn’t performing at the same level as a guy who’s been playing senior footy for a decade.

Yeah missed that one. but i do have doubts that the selection panel will make four changes this week, hasnt happened all year.

Sier is a good talent, but he needs to be played forward of centre, could see him come in for Daicos and Brown staying in, only because the club usually gives players a few games in the AFL before being dropped, not because he played to the standard.

Would love to play Sidebottom through the defence. His ball-use could be vital. I would swap him and Murray. Let Murray play on the wing. It will also help when he gets tagged, so he doesn’t turn totally ineffective.
