No info about a Partington debut? Seems unlikely if there's no word of it?

There was no confirmation of Mutimer being named for his debut until the team announcement came out

After hearing some comments from Simpson i think changes will be :

Out: Hutchings, Duggan
Ins: Redden, Partington

Smokeys

Butler, Cripps for Wellingham, Masten

Edit and with Hawkins out we'll move Gov forward.

^^ During this past fortnight I suspect our MC will have convinced themselves that we remain in contention for the flag this year provided we get over Geelong. So hopes of investing games into our youth will have to wait after Thursdays smacking. Redden and Masten it is.

I have a horrible feeling you are right. But if Geelong beat us, you would think that the week after... surely, wouldn't they... (he says until the end of the year)...

If the changes are something like Redden and Masten for Hutchings and Duggan I'm going to throw the toys out of the cot.
I'll join you.

Reding Redden and Masten IN will be akin to this

I'm hoping for:

Out: Duggan, Hutchings, MacKenzie
In: Partington, Redden, Barrass

Very predictable is Simmo ,same old same old faces in and out ..
Listening to Simmo on 6PR last night thought he sounded very flat - me thinks (I know, bad language!!) Simmo may have a negative disposition which as a coach is not the ideal to rev up players. Simmo needs to get tougher. Just my 2c for what it's worth!

Plenty of coaches have negative dispositions when talking to the media.

Both of our premiership coaches were famous for it.

How upbeat do you think you'd be having to talk to Langdon and Haselby every Monday night just after you'd spoken to Basil

The game below was extremely exciting. Hands down the worst performance by a westcoast team I've seen in the flesh.

Subiaco - Round 13 2008
West Coast 1.5 2.9 3.14 5.17 47
Geelong 7.3 13.6 23.10 28.14 182

It got me thinking about our prospects on Thursday if we go in as mentally frazzled and physically weak as that team did (and we have this past three weeks). Our current midfield is clearly significantly worse than the circa 2008 one that still had the likes of Kerr, Cox, Embley, Priddis, Stenglein, Braun, Selwood and co running through it. Geelong's wont be quite as good but it will shit all over us. Our forward line with no Kennedy is just as bad as 2008 so expect the seldom shallow inside 50 entries to be slingshot off CHF all day.

Our backline is about the same and although I expect it will resist well against an average Geelong forward line what can we expect with the ball stuck in the back half for 70% of the game? It wont hold out forever. This will all come to pass and Friday the back page will have a picture of a sad Simpson defending his job.

When you look at it the state of our list now is eerily similar to that one of 2008 with aging stars getting games as they limped towards retirement. What scares the shit out of me is we seem to be managing our list in exactly the same way now, as we did then... and our past 9 years generally is one of the worst periods in our history.

Is that a statement or a question?

I don't think he will be

Wouldn't have elevated Mcinness back off the rookie list if he was
Statement, McInnes is to play forward for your structures. Is not good in ruck.
You need Lycett to help vardy out against Smith, Blicavs and Stanley.

I remember that game. Wow did it suck so bad it became funny.
Not as bad as the game against St Kilda in 1992 in shocking conditions - think it was played just before the finals from memory and managed to kick 3 goals for the whole game. St Kilda belted us on the day and we then went onto win the flag a few weeks later! Where there's life there's hope is all I can say  .
