INS: Gault, Dwyer, Freeman
OUTS: Sidebottom, DeGoey, Ramsay

B: Alan Toovey ~ Nathan Brown ~ Marley Williams
HB: Ben Sinclair ~ Jack Frost ~ Tom Langdon

C: Travis Varcoe ~ Taylor Adams ~ Jack Crisp

HF: Alex Fasolo ~ Travis Cloke ~ Jamie Elliott
F: Jarryd Blair ~ Jessie White ~ Corey Gault

R: Brodie Grundy ~ Scott Pendlebury ~ Dane Swan

I/C: Sam Dwyer ~ Tyson Goldsack ~ Adam Oxley
Sub: Nathan Freeman

We need another person to come in that can do the ruck. Grundy although he played great still ran out of legs so he needs more of a break, but also I don't think we can drag White in the ruck too long. So I think that's where Gault comes in. I'd pick over Witts because he looks more dangerous up forward and is more athletic. Dwyer or Broomhead whoever looks like running out a game better gets Sidebottom's spot. Dwyer played better I heard so if there even I'd pick him. I picked Nathan Freeman as the sub because I don't think De Goey's game was good enough t get him a full game and I don't want him to be the sub twice. Freeman's also shown he can run so he might add some extra legs in the last quarter.

**** I can't wait till Greenwood, Seedsman, Scharenberg and Reid are ready with De Goey and Freeman getting more match fit as the season goes on.
V v similar thinking

Although it might make sense to drop Ramsay on team balance, is feel for the kid

lol @ dropping Ramsay or Sinclair. Are people so blinded by their preconceived opinions that they couldn't see that they were two of our better performed tonight.

Tonight was a big FU to those critical of selections last week. The defence was magnificent, it will remain unchanged.
This. Don't spoil the small defense. It's working.
Go too attacking it might come undone.

Brown or Frost are going to have to on their game next week if Tex keeps this up.
He is destroying North.
12 marks and 7 scoring shots in a half.

Feel for the kid too but that's footy. Adelaid only have the 2 small forwards in Betts and Cameron so I don't think we'll have a match up for Ramsay.

Adelaide look scary good at the moment.

Disapointing that Steele got injured will be sorely missed this week.

Need to maintain the same pressure as we did against the Bears.

We've played 1 game against a team with a bottom 4 forward line.

Oxley had 4 effective disposals for the game, he and Ramsay were headless chooks early. Williams did very little all game.

Playing all 4 regularly is going to be a big mistake.

I think Gault needs to come in to provide that extra tall to support Grundy and leave Cloke and White and permanent forwards. We also need to replace Sidey.

I would:
- pick Gault
- drop Ramsey or Oxley (due to structures)
- replace Sidey with one of BK, Broomy, PK or Seeds (club best placed to assess form and fitness). If fit I think Seeds is the best option as he is more mature and would be a direct swap for Ramsey.
- keep JDG as the sub given there is no VFL game for him to get a full game next weekend.

Yes but who did they play on. Keeping them their forwards to a mimium was important. Christensen and Robinson were well held didn't get off the leash.
Only guy they did get off the leash was Greene. Whoever played on Greene should be dropped perhaps.

There is, actually. Practice match against North Ballarat at Victoria Park. Starts at 12:30pm. Will serve as a double header to the seniors.

Robinson averages 10 goals a year, why do you keep talking about him as if he is some sort of goal kicking threat.

Toovey and Sinclair were our only small defenders who were good imo.

Robinson was Carltons best player last time we played them.
Greene could've killed us had he kicked straight. Think Williams took him

One for our VFL watches, what's Freeman like defensively; could we bring him in for a run with role for Dangerfield? I imagine it'd be a great learning opportunity for him

If he was 100% match fit he could easily play a run with role, but he's not even ready to play a full senior game, let alone run against a star like Danger.

If Freeman was brought in this week he'd have to be the sub, and that would be detrimental to his fitness development IMO.

One more week in the VFL for him and Seeds then we consider selecting them.

That says more about the quality of Carltons list than it does about the quality of Robinson.

Clearly Blair has to be out, doesn't matter who comes in we just need Blair out. Isn't that right?

Played well, can't ask for more then that.

Form wise he is in the 22 off last night but will it last? that is the question and will his weakness be exposed like previous years.

If he continue and improve on lasts nights game then no one will call for his dropping.

If it was a game for points I would probably drop him so he gets a real run around. But as a practice match I would leave him as the Sub for the experience. What I don't think I would do is pick him in the run on side.

After watching the Crows I wouldn't be confident our best 22 with Sidey, Reid, Freeman, Witts and Greenwood could beat them, let alone the side we will put out.

BUT;

Footy is funny, it does change from week to week and the Crows have to come to Melbourne off a 6 day break, which is an advantage for us at least.

I won't go in confident but if we can attack their ball carriers like we did the Lions early on, they will get a shock as North gave nothing really in that game today.

Walker is going to tear us a new one next week.. can already see it coming.

We should be able to keep Betts and Cameron relatively quiet. The midfield battle should be pretty even
