I'm not 100% convinced that we will go for a like for like replacement depending on the weather. I have a suspicion that if the weather is fine we may well opt for another tall like Gault and give Elliott some midfield time. That also allows Gault to take a bit of the ruck duties to help Grundy out. Just a theory mind you.

Article says Bucks has suggested Seedsman, Dwyer or Broomhead as covers for Sidebottom.

Personally I would really like to see Seedsman back in the side to add his run and carry.
Would be important coming up against the Crows.

As best I can tell Witts & Reid won't be ready and Sidebottom will miss with injury.

Broomhead my most likely in as reportedly good in the VFL practice match.
Dwyer in the mix if fit (reportedly good in VFL but also said to have gotten injured)
Gault, PK & BK in the mix given they were emergencies but will not having played a game this week count against Gault & PK?
BK reportedly didn't do himself any favours with VFL form lacking which is a shame as he's probably more contested through the middle than Broomy.
I've seen suggestions that Freeman still has work to do before being considered.

De Goey probably needs a full game for fitness - more likely in VFL
Seeds supposedly had good VFL game so could be in the mix but best chance as sub as imagine still needs match fitness.
Ramsay and Oxley also potentially on the block - more for team balance (eg a tall to stretch Crows defence)

I know it's only one game, but the way the Crows played on Sunday screams "contender" to me. That is a brand of football that will really take it to Hawthorn, and I don't think we'll get close on Saturday. They have quality all over the ground and look to have found the cohesion and fluency they have been lacking.

I hope they do play this sort of footy all year (except against us of course). I don't mind either of the SA teams at present and would love to see them knock the Hawks off in September.

Round 3 2012 Carlton (against us) looked like a contender too... a lot can change!

I agree with the first part of this (Cant really judge gault just yet). I dont know why people as so keen to chuck another big bloke down there. We look much more mobile with white/cloke and 4 smaller guys.

As much as I'd love to permanently drop Blair and Sinclair, they've each earned a reprieve until their true mediocrity inevitably shines through again.

So, in the meantime, its gotta be:

OUT - Sidey (inj.), Ramsay (meh), DeGoey (unlucky but we need experienced players against Crows)
IN - Broomhead plus two of Seedsman/Dwyer/Karnezis (all four are excellent kicks)
(SUB: Oxley)

Because Grundy ran out of puff at the end. We need Grundy to rest more without giving more time to Jessie White in the ruck.
