Prediction Changes vs. Brisbane

Ken Hinkley you gutless bastard.

Ken is too scared to drop the bigger names who are seriously out of form. Ken is too scared to bring in the kids who have shown strong, consistent, form in the magpies.

So what does Ken do? He drops the usual fringe players in exchange for the other usual fringe players.

All Ken wants this year is to keep his job. If you want your job you need to practice what you preach, be brave and be bold.

Brett Eddy kicked 6 in the JLT and look how he fared in real AFL games.

3 goals and 5 goal assists in his first 3 games at that level ever?

What were the coaches expecting I wonder.

Bags of 5?

Which is fair enough, but if that's the deal breaker we probably could've looked for that in places other than "27yo rookie who has spent his entire career playing at a level where that sort of thing is largely irrelevant as a KPI".

It harks back to the decisional paradox thing.

What we're doing, we don't know.

Neade has reached his ceiling as an AFL player. At best, he's a depth player and depth players shouldn't get promoted when a playing list is healthy just like ours.

Let's say any club in the comp was able to select Neade, only one would and sadly that's Port. I doubt Brisbane would.

I understand the whole team defense concept. Yes, forwards should defend a bit as well. But shouldn't we expect defenders to contribute by kicking a few goals as well? Or team attack is not a thing yet?

This obsession with forwards' defense efforts really irritates me. I mean, it should be part of their toolkit, but can't be the defining KPI. I know it sounds terribly passé but I'd be happy for our forwards to kick goals first and foremost.

We do expect some of the defenders to kick goals at times. Part of what was rubbish about Pittard's game was his continual missing when given the chance.

But really the fair comparison is that we expect defenders to start the forward thrusts as much as we expect the forwards to apply pressure and defend. That's why we want good ball users in defense and have brought Houston in.

If Howard were to come in it would be for another tall and Dixon and Trengove aren't getting dropped from the forward line. Westhoff, aside from being best on ground last week, also isn't getting dropped. Maybe if hombsch gets caught out for a few more weeks in a row then he can come out and a reshuffle take place.

Although Neade may never make it, he is infinitely better than Toumpas.

He's really not, just as invisible a forward as Toumpas is an invisible midfielder. Just jake neade has been given far more chances to succeed

He was far from looking completely out of place plus his actual game time was poorly managed, far too small of a sample size to write off it shits me people have formed that conclusion.
