I would be very loth to take that scire as an indicator of how the game mapped out.

True, it was something like 10 scoring shots to 3 in the last quarter, bout time another team wasted their shots on goal. Only difference is when we do it, we lose! Can't wait to see us kick 5.21 this week in the wet.

Wow I completely forgot about Sinclair. Could he be used down back or is he not strong enough? Also is Sheed was to go out would there be any chance of Waterman coming in or he not really ready?

Sinclair is not agile enough for a key defender.

If our play makers in Hurn and Yeo are busy defending i think Bennell will offer some dash out of the backline. We need him in ASAP, along with Ellis who is a big upgrade on Butler. I rate Butler but i think he is to slow at making decisions and holds up the play to much and he should be phased out like Adam Selwood was. Both players were more than handy back in the day but i think it is time to move on.

My preferred backline with what is at our disposal.

- Rosa to play down back to free up some time for Yeo to play in the midfield.

No way you drop Lycett after one bad week. He's a 22 year old ruckman who had the misfortune of being contrasted against a truly unique player in Nicnat and an old wily master of his craft in [stupid commentator voice] BIG! WILL! MINSON!

In regards to Butler and even others bringing it out of defence Id say its possibly adapting to the new instructions. Rather than blaze away they are now trying to make the correct choice and assess the situation, then get pinged or search for option 3 or 4 when 1 or 2 was the correct call.

It is a difficult one as when they play on, old instincts have them putting the next in line under enormous pressure. Take too long and the result is the same. I feel at least like them taking more time to assess is the new game plan in action, just with poor execution until they get used to it. I so I hope...

It's also about learning to play with each other, getting a feel for who is a good option under pressure and having players work to present themselves as (realistic) options. The group will take time to gel and the issue with playing older players is that by the time everyone is adjusted again, they only have a year or two left. If Emac was uninjured then waiting a year or two might have worked but I'm not sure if he'll be the same when he comes back, and that might just end up moving our window back by another 2-4 years as we'll need to add more KPP talent.

I'm a bit worried about Simpson's comments that Sinclair is "ready to go" and that he would return this week (?). He does not deserve Lycett's spot and I have no desire to see him lumbering around the backline. Hopefully Simpson means WAFL.

Can't see how Sinkers couid even walk straight into the team without at least playing in the WAFL first, but last year we were only rotating Naita, Lycett and Cox; Sinkers have only ever been injury cover.

Sinclair might be a good chance at CHF untill (if ) Darling returns , could work out well with opposition teams needing a tall on Sinclair = less talls in opposition forward line = less pressure on West Coasts undermanned backline .

In his defence, his form late last year warranted a place in the side. Sinclair hasn't proven himself at the top level yet either.

I think Sinclair is a good chance to play CHB. I am basing this on Simpsons pattern of playing experience first and balancing youth second. He won't want to bring in a debutant if someone else can do the job. For eg, butler over a debutant or rookie replacing Ellis.
Unless Schofield doesn't play or he wants to play McGovern as a swing man.

Colledge had 37 possessions and 3 goals. I don't recall any Eagle ever getting that kind of production in the WAFL, except for Rowan Jones - but he was an immortal. At some point, you have to reward form.

Two of them were in negating roles, the third came off the bench to play at half-forward on a half-back. A negative brand? Did you watch the game? Both sides played free-flowing footy from the outset, in particular we played on at every opportunity and went through the corridor far more often than in previous years.

Where did I say he made the right choices in personnel or position? I've said a couple of times I think Wellingham should be in the guts. All I did was question your assertion that he was playing a negating role at the start. Because he wasn't. Rather than just accept that, you've decided to talk bollocks to deflect.

Keep congratulating me on the loss, I had exactly as much to do with it as you did.

and not strong enough to play KPF at the highest level.

If people think Minson overpowered Lycett then they only need cast back a little while ago, when Sinclair was winning around 25% of his taps against Minson.
