I'd like Dizzy to be on the ground though rather than sub as we really need him vs Dogs week after.

Definitely need Dizzy playing on Curnow. 4 key forwards have kicked 4 or more against us in the last 3 games

Levi to sub

Could be an opportunity to give Oscar a game for Fort or Day. It's not like Carlton are known for their transition off half back

Agree, Dizzy as sub really only makes sense if we are planning for a probable injury to another tall. IMO the sub should 90% of the time be an impact player eg, Reville/Beecken/McKenna, if Dizzy is in the 23 he should play in the starting 22.

I'd be brining the Big O in for Darcy Fort this game so we can make an assessment as to if O's body is up to it and to settle on who is our number 1 ruck for the run into finals.

After this game we have an extremely hard run home to finals, Bulldogs at the Gabba in a Friday night blockbuster next round, if we are timing our run to perfection it needs to start then.

I think we went Dizz as the sub because we wanted to take another look at how we go with the shorter defence but wanted some security if it wasn't working. And that might have been horses for courses anyway.

We will have a tough time finishing second if the Cats knock off the Giants this week

They have very little resistance for the remaining home and away games with maybe Sydney away the only other one they might drop

The Big O was pulled from the VFL apparently to have him ready for Thursday night - if needed. There is a little something something going on with the Big O none of us understand, he has played reserve grade, full games and there is a little less wrestling in the ruck in reserve grade. Forte has been good, not great but good enough. I'm not sure the Big O is a substantial upgrade on Forte at this point in time but I'll bet Fagan want the Big O playing in the finals. We have some tough games coming, I am sure there is debate over when and where we play Big O.

Other than him, I dont see any other obvious changes yet, maybe a bit of changing of deck chairs. I did like what may have been, the Dunkley/Rayner sharing of forward line time even if it was a freshen up thing, a good move to have up our sleeve.

Similarly I've got a little niggle about this one for 2 reasons.

We've struggled against teams we should be walloping on paper all year.

Carlton will have a big form reversal day in at least one match before the year is out.

Due to the 5-day break if Oscar is right to go i think he comes in for Fort. If Fort stays fine, no issue either way.
Maybe they could even alternate the solo role for a while.

No apparent injuries so unlikely anyone from the VFL get a go.

The sub: Stuff the AFL for not having 5 on the bench as all coaches voted for it last year when asked by the AFL.

McKay likely still out for the Blues so i think we just go small again
That will mean Gardiner the likely sub again
