i dont get the "5 changes is too much" thing

we could have easily gone with
OUT: WHITE, STEWART
IN: MITCHELL, TRENGOVE

2 injuries out, 2 player in. Mitchell was ALWAYS coming in to replace the speed of Whitey.
Trengove was always coming in so Clurey or Jonas had to go. Clurey was the right choice.

So thats.
OUT: WHITE, STEWART, CLUREY
IN: MITCHELL, TRENGOVE, KRAKOUER

Gray would still be in the team as would Young who had a stinker. Ah Chee and Moore still languishing in the SANFL and BF Port board would be going ballistic as usual for the non selections of Moorey and Ah Chee while Sam Gray keeps being a witches hat

These 5 changes are EXACTLY what we need. We are travelling shithouse and will be lucky to get near the finals. Blokes are underperforming. We need to switch things up and bring guys in the team who are playing well in the SANFL otherwise we might as well just start tanking now

This has been the best week all season for selections and actually gets me excited to watch the game

I love the changes...

I think this is one of the most exciting teams we have put out this season....

I can smell it....achee is going to be something special....

Achee achee man....i want to be an achee man

I can't see Ah Chee being sub either. Mitchell will be and come in for either Moore or Mitchell.

Ah Chee deserves to have a fully game. To his credit, he has done everything right in 2015 and is seeing the benefits of having his first ever full preseason. He hasn't lost confidence after going back to the SANFL and keeps churning out great numbers.

Hoping that Mitchell or Krak is the sub.

I like the thought of Krak as the sub as he has more flexibility than Mitchell.

we still need to manage Krak as this is his first season back and the club keeps on saying that he doesn't have an AFL motor yet.

Although they did say that at the start of the season and picked him the next week!

Lol we all know why he is saying its desperate. Why else would they choose a spud like Moore over the legendary Sam Gray?
Oh boy some people, if you look back some pages on this thread I said MOORE SHOULD BE SELECTED THIS WEEK.You need your reading glasses Mrs Moore.

27% of the team is either relatively new(Hoon),returning after a long injury break(Jacko), returning after staccato inclusion(AhChee, Mitchell, Krak) or playing for the first time this year (Moore).
As as been said, the selectors need a good kick up the bum for poor selection strategy.
Don't expect a cohesive first half of football. Pray to whatever God you may have for a good 2nd half

One thing we will get from 5 ins is effort and an attitude change. These boys will be wanting to impress and won't see Carlton as "an easy win".

HOW DARE THE SELECTION COMITIEE ALLOW A PLAYER TO PLAY HIS FIRST GAME OF AFL FOOTY WHEN HE HAS BEEN TEARING UP THE SANFL WEEKLY (MOORE) If not now when? Take him out of your 27%

We saw hoon perform quite well last week with one or two dinky kicks he's fine take him out of your 27%
Jacko's come straight back into the side after long injury lay offs before and performed well take him out of your 27%
Who actually uses the word staccato I think its the first time ever it's been posted in this forum as a whole didn't know Beethoven was selecting our squad this week.
Mitchell deserves a go after playing his best game statistically last week. Ah Chee's been ever consistent in the sanfl since being dropped and krakouer was always going to return to the squad either this round or next round and was only dropped due to his demotion and needing a break after playing 6 consecutive games in a row and 1 as sub due to his real first season back in a long time.

nice b8 m8 thank god your not on our selection panel. If you had any idea the first 5 minutes would be scrappy

Saying he should be selected because he couldn't be any worse than others even though your not a fan and then backing it up by calling the selections this week desperate and proof that the coaches are making calls about list management? Forgive me if I don't view your opinion either reasonable or considered.

Yep it's starting to feel that way or maybe he's hinted that he's leaving.

Could be a good thing for both parties. He's got ability but it's not shining at port.

Sorry about that Mrs Moore at least young Andrew gets a game this week and like you I will be cheering on every kick :)

hopefully the changes won't unsettle any resemblance of consistency that we had in our team.

a 22.7% turnover of a team in one week is rather material.

in any case, Kenny is sending a message to the playing group.
I hope it will unsettle our consistency because we have been consistently shit.

so mix it up boys because it has been crap for awhile now.

It will be interesting to see if Moore takes this opportunity and really shows his team mates that he wants to be in this team. I think he has it in him, he just has to want it enough and believe in himself .

To my mind, I would have probably dropped Jonas and kept Clurey in, but overall I think the changes are positive.

Jonas prob deserves to be dropped, but the problem we have is that it's guys like him thst helped us rise to where we were last year. We need him firing

One change which hasn't really been talked about.

Adelaide Oval out - MCG in.

Do you guys think playing on the MCG will be better for size than if we played at Etihad or Adelaide?
I haven't watched much of Carlton this year but I think/hope the MCG will suit us more than them and maybe get us back to playing through the middle.
I'm hoping with the bit wider ground that we will be able to find space in the middle easier than previous weeks, while making it harder for them to defend the corridor.
I feel while this a danger game for us it is also the opportunity for us to find some form and take the game again with some run and carry through the middle.

With all the ins this week I'm looking forward most to se Arch get a full game! :) Please Ken. :thumbsu:

The teams that continually win are the ones who have consistency, they may every now and then have a number of changes for injuries but in general they have 0-2 changes. The mantra is not so much "5 changes is too much" as "5 changes at once can be too much". Bringing in Sam Gray was a mistake as it put us into this position where an omission was going to have to be made urgently at some time. Even though Paul Stewart was doing well in the SANFL he has never been more than a stopgap so probably should not have been brought in. I agree with the 5 changes but I would have, and I think Ken would if injuries hadn't forced his hand, dropped 3 one week and 2 the next.
