As of a few years ago past R8 rookies could play. Upgrading wasn't required. The AFL tinkers with that stuff but I think that's still the case. Anyway regarding the previous posts Eddy's not a rookie.

Not the case anymore.

Because we came into the year with only 38 players on our senior list (i.e. available for AFL selection), we were able to upgrade 2 players (Eddy and Houston) from the rookie list to reach the maximum senior list size of 40.
