We've picked a young team which we hope will be full of run and a smallish, very mobile and agile forward line. Our defense looks undersized but we've said that almost every week for months now. Ballsy team selection by Beveridge and the MC as usual.

Loved hearing Beveridge talk in the pre-game presser yesterday about how he and Simpson know each other well and talk every week, including bouncing ideas off each other. They haven't spoken this week though, which is not surprising. There is a lot of respect between the two obviously, just as there is from our supporters for your team. We are loving the way our crew are travelling but are also fully aware of what a tough gig it is to face your mob anywhere, but especially at home.

Let's hope for a cracking game and for no injuries.

And condolences to Nic Naitanui. Get around him.

Always had a soft spot for the Dogs as I used to stay on Droop st a fair bit and they always played a fast offensive game. Nothing worse than a Paul Roos or Ross Lyon team.

A few of your crew are occasional visitors to our board and are always very welcome - there is some pretty good banter between the supporters and the mods seem to know each other and get along well. Richmond, Norf, StKilda and Melbourne on the other hand...

Have to agree. Doggies have always been a kind of distant second fav to for me. Hoping they can finish 4th and smash freo first week of finals. In that regard it doesn't hurt to give them a little practise

Gotta echo your thoughts there, as well as the others above.

Been a little overshadowed by the tribunal stuff earlier in the week but the build up to this game has been fantastic. Both sides focused on the footy, lots of great discussion going on. Lots of mutual respect. None of the smoke and mirrors of the Derby, both coaches seemingly playing it straight up and happy to back whoever takes the field to do the job.

Really itching for the win as I'm sure the Doggies are and I have a feeling it's gonna be a ball-tearer of game.

It should be a great game, 2 very exciting teams.

I want the Eagles to win every week but probably a little bit more this week. My partner is a one-eyed Dogs supporter and she hasn't stopped with the banter since Round 1. It would be good to give it back on Sunday afternoon

That round 1 loss to the dogs was still one of the most impressive games of footy I've seen the eagles play (and dogs) in a very long time. It was super aggressive with unprecedented dangerous kicking into the corridor. I haven't taken such note of a drastic change in eagles strategy since we introduced the hand-pass-happy game play style vs Adelaide towards the end of the year in like 06 and the forward press in rd 1 vs the Roos in 11.

The melt down from the loss has been proven as unjustified with both teams in the top 4.

Can't wait for this game.
