I just hope we don't delist him at years end. He deserves at least another year. I've heard Sheedy mention that he'll get an opurtunity before years end.

I don't see how he could be delisted. If Dyson and Bradley can be on the list as long as they have and get as many opportunities as they have, i don't see why Lonergan wouldn't be able to have the same, he's only been playing since 06 and has show a bit so i don't know how the new coach could delist him.

IN: Fletcher, Lonergan

OUT: Bradley, Monfries

Everytime there has been a thread like this there has been a comment about Monfries going out of the team. Let the kid go. If Sheeds would of put him in the midfield he should be exactly like adcock even better.
In Fletcher
Out Bradley

But Hird, lovett, jetta all 50/50 hird probaly 35/65

Maybe there is a reason for that....

Knights seemed to think Riemers fitness was a fair way off for senior footy atm so Im not sure if he'll be considered just yet. He was very impressed with his 3rd quarter though.

But then again so is Gumbletons, certainly couldnt carry both in the same side against the hardest running side in the comp.

IN - Fletcher, Reimers
OUT - Bradley, Monfries

Not sure Kyle is ready this week Longy. He has missed a game and some training recently and after his blistering third quarter he was out of puff in the last and this was after spending the whole second quarter on the bench.
Would prefer to see Sam come in to play Monfires role and i think Sam may well give us more in the midfield than Gus.

At this early stage i would be looking at
Out:
Bradley
Gumby - I think the smaller running forwards will suit better against the Hawks.
Monfires.

In:
Fletcher
Lonergan
Lovett , maybe Houli or even give Hocking a look.

Dysons position could be looked at as well but i doubt there would be four changes.

I think Gumby or Bradley is extremely important this week in drawing space for Lloyd and Lucas.

Well i suppose it worked well today given Gumby knew where to lead and when not to go into the space.

In- Fletcher, Jetta

Out- Bradley, NLM

Monfries did well in the 2nd half, he'll keep his spot. I would like to see Gumby kept for another week. At worst start him off the bench and interchange him at CHF with Lucas during the match.

Whatever you do, don't mention the elephant standing in the corner of the room... Out: RAMA, In:Lonergan

Other changes:
Out: Gumbleton and Kepler
In: Fletcher, Lovett/Houli/Hocking

I was some more legs against the Hawks. Last time, they ran rings around us on the open spaces of the MCG...oh and Buddy tore us a new one. Might need to shake Ryder out of his daze and demand a high-leaping shut-down job if that starts happening to Michael/Fletch again...

yeah thats a big one, we have to shut buddy down at all costs i think.. make sure he doesnt kick 9 goals again...
now that we have NLM back in the side i think we can ensure that fletcher is the loose man.. ryder to franklin with fletcher sitting 10 metres in front of him.... mal to boyle mcphee to roughhead, NLM to dixon..
they have atall forward line, but we have a tall backline, in theory we should be able to account for them..

its a different game to earlier in the year imo.... i think our midfeild has lifted a hell of a lot since the midyear break.. we have been winning our own ball and put a lot of pressure on our opponents.. we need to make sure that we do this when the hawks are going inside 50 so that buddy doesnt have another feild day.

NLM?

I thought he has played well lately. 100000 times better then Ryder's 3 weeks...

McPhee was obviously killed by Buddy last time & we took too long to make the change & it cost us big time

Also remember we had no Lloyd, Hille & maybe Winda the last time we played the Hawks but we did have Hird & Davey

It will be a huge match - we must have a good first quarter & put alot of pressure on them - especially early

NLM -> Franklin

Yep thats the matchup. I think it will work well, if not it cant go worse than anyone did last time. If this matchup even half works, it will go a great deal to keeping our backline structure ok.

Id lean towards:

In: Fletcher, Lovett (if fit) and Lonergan (sheedy seems to be in the mood for youngsters atm)

Out: Bradley, Gumby (team balance) and Monfries.

I've been thinking this for a few weeks. How about we get Bolton in and play him as a purely negating tagger on Hodge? Give him a chain 2 feet long and staple it to Hodges shorts at the first bounce and have an extra tall in the back line when Hodge tries to float across half back.

IN - Fletcher, Lovett and Jetta
OUT - Dyson, Monfries and either Gumby/Bradley

Whilst would love to see both gumby and keplar play only 1 can be selected unless injury to lloyd or lucas, both need to play in the F50 and Gumby did enough to get another game. Feel sorry for Bradley cause he is being played out of position, he is a HFF and 3rd tall, when will sheedy realise this (after he wrecks him again - he has had his confidence boosted at vfl level only to be screwed over again at afl. I am only 5"10" and better option to play back than bradley (and that is really saying something with my football (in)ability). He cant read the ball from a defensive mindset, he needs to be productive in his role that he is playing on the ground.

NLM to stay and play on buddy (if he is back)

thats the matchup i want, NLM has the speed and athleticism to stick with buddy, he also has aggression and can do some damage.

With no Mitchell and Crawford to worry about, I would have thought Slattery on Hodge is a no brainer.
