Changes Vs Swans

I no its still a week away but i thought i'd get some anger, frustration and thoughts of my chest.

GOOD SIGNS
Wojja
Ablett Jnr
Otto

Bad Signs
Not very experienced forward line
Ling
Egan - not bad, but just looks uncomfortable without Scarlo. Still love him.
SJ - :(

Therefore,
Prismall in. For gods sake. This kid is Good. Byrnes didnt show much, throw Prissie in.
Kingsley said he thinks he will miss next week aswell, so chuck Mackie/Gardiner in.
Is Playfair ready for next week?

I'd like to see something like this
IN: Prismal, Playfair, Gardiner/Mackie
OUT: Byrnes, Lonergon/NA (maybe 1 stay in?) and a bigish name player to show the players we mean bussiness.

Im not just saying this as we lost this week, if we lose next week i think we will be waaay behind where we should have been.
Thoughts?

Whoops.. forgot Scarlo is coming back.
So
IN: Scarlo, Playfair (hopefully), Mackie/Gardiner, Prissy
OUT: Byrnes (or a midfielder), Lonergon/ NA, Callen (spot safe with Scarlo back?)

Leave Callan in and take Slade out for Scarlo...if I see 'elbows' give away one more stupid free kick I'm going to cut off his arms.
Yeah true. didnt think about that one. I saw them a few times yesterday.
Callan>Slade

Nathan out before Lonergan. Both did nothing yesterday however Tom has VFL form behind him and Nathan does not.

Otherwise that looks good if Kingsley and Playfair come up. Maybe recall Blake if it was indeed a horses for courses policy v. the dogs. The crowd will swell in anticipation of a Chambers v. Blake ruck showdown.

Ive thought about it a bit more, and this is what i have come up with.

B: Mooney Scarlett Hunt
HB: Milburn Egan Enright
C: Kelly Ling Tenace
HF: Chapman Playfair G.Ablett
F: S.Johnson N.Ablett Kingsley
Foll: Ottens Corey Bartel

Int: Rooke, Prismall, D.Johnson, Wojcinski

IN: Prismall, Playfair, Kingsley, Scarlett
Out: Slade, Callan, Longeran, Byrnes

My Selection Criteria:

Prismall : Good kid, played very well in the NAB cup and continues to play good football in the VFL, is going to be a good solid player, and the only way were going to know is if he has a go, and i think its time.. has better skills that byrnes, and has good pace.

Playfair: Will bring back the much needed height and presence at CHF:

Kingsley: as much as we bag him, he is our best forward, and will be eager to get back on the goal kicking list.

Scarlett : need i say more? i have come to the conclusion, no scarlett, no geelong.. he is sooo critical to our structure, and the general to our backline. Captain, and our best player.

Who i keeped:

N.Ablett: i keeped this young lad in the team because i think he has ALOT to deliver, you all say he is still raw, i disagree, i think he is right to go, he is one big unit, he leeds well, and presents, but only if our midfielders would kick it to him then i might be a little more happier. With playfair and kingsley down forward, he wont get the best defender and he will be able to be free and might tear it up.

Wojcinski: he is a gun, the way he attacked that pill, and tackled yesterday, just gives me a smile, very very good player.

S.Johnson : Yes yes he is a smart ass, but he is a class act as well at best of times. you just dont know when he is going to turn it on, and i think that he is more than likely going to do that soon, and i just cant find anyone of the class to replace him... the quicker he grows up the better for him and for the geelong team and supporters.

Who i dropped and why? :

Longeran: A very good VFL player, but when it comes to crunch in the AFL he is nothin but a VFL player. Very ordinary, been on the list for 4 yrs and has done nothin to impress me, just a player if you ask me. Delisted at this years end.

Byrnes: Another that needs to wake up to himself, yes yes he has pace, and so did david clarke, but were did that get him? you also have to have skills with your pace, and this is something that shannon doesn't have, and if he doesn;t get a right foot by round 7, he will be delisted. he is worthless with his left foot crap, he gets caught out so many times its not funny. Just a player .. VFL for him.

Slade: Been good for the last 4 games, just needs to have a rest and think about his game, and needs to put those elbows away and concerntrate on the pill.

Callan: played very good, but someone has to make room for scarlo. Was impressed with his attack on the ball and his tackling, very very good.

I'm guessing:

In: Scarlett, Prismall, Playfair
Out: Slade, Byrnes, Lonergan/NAblett

I'd prefer Hunt to be dropped instead of Slade but I can't see it happening.

One of Lonergan/NAblett to make way for Hank. Lonergan's claims are his solid VFL form. Working against him is that he is hopeless. Ablett's claims are that he is an Ablett (and not a Lonergan). Working against him is that he hardly got a touch yesterday. Tough decision.

Kent would have to be doubtful. If he miraculously got up then both 13 and 23 out.

In. Scarlett, Playfair, Prismall

Out: Slade, Lonergan, S.Johnson.

Kingsley - is still another week away.

Johnson - really has to learn his lesson.

Longergan - Please, dont give him another game.

Slade - Unlucky, would have Callan and Monica ahead of him on the weekends performance.

Although Lonergon has better VFL form than Nath, I'd keep Nath because hes proved he can play at this level before and Lonergon IMO has been and always will be a dud

* Playfair in in fit for Lonergan
* I'm assuming KK won't play
Not saying that i disagree with you JUBJUB, but why Stokes> How is his form? Why does he deserve his chance? But i tend to agree with your ins and outs.

I agree whole heartedly that SJ needs to be taught a lesson. He was at his frustrating best yesterday. Too often he f&*$#! around with it, when if he had of taken the first option he would have been far more effective. Hinkley either needs to sit him down and tell him to use the first option and stop messing around with it, or he needs to be sent back to the VFL as a disciplinary measure. He just needs to realise his value to the team, and stop trying to the extraordniary every time he goes near the footy. He should watch some of Lil Gaz and Chappy's videos to see what selfless team acts combined with brillance is all about.

IN: Scarlett, best player we have, top 10 in the AFL.

Hank: if not ready Charlie / 6 in the VFL and would have been a good link man in the last two weeks

Prismall: I have seen 3 VFL games this year and this kid oozes class. Another great performance on Saturday, he deserves his shot. From what I have seen, I put him in the Simon Black mould.

OUT: Slade: He only has 3 or so games left anyway, plus I think he will be a bit sore after yesterday. He hurt his knee early and took along time to comeback on the ground. Callan and Bomber offered more yesterday.

Lonergran: A victim of the style of game we played yesterday. we refused to kick it to the contest, didn't move the ball quickly in an attempt to slow their style of play, and very rarely had space in the forward line. Just think Hank or Charlie would be better value at CHF, and Nath better value at FF if Kent isn't right.

SJ: As above.

Dog has to go. Not only for that non chase several other opportunities he had he just got goal fever rather than pass to a better spot.

Prismal Scarlo, all good but we still dont have a goal scoring option and I dont think we will have one till KK get back in. H would probably still be a week away sadly.

I dont even want to say bring in CG or AM so I wont.

NA should not play another game till he consistently kicks good scores in the 2s.

That passage of play where Gilbee ran from full back to the wing and hit B.Johnson on the ****** who then goaled. That was SJ's man. Gaz ended up chasing him, but was filthy at SJ because he was still standing inside forward 50.

Hunt's an interesting one. I think he somehow avoids a lot of scrutiny but is often one of our worst players. He often gets beaten by his direct opponent and despite his seemingly sublime kicking skills, makes far too many mistakes by foot.

I think it's getting to the point where maybe he needs to go back and dominate in the VFL. Maybe even in the VFL midfield. Just so he gets his confidence up and can perhaps be a bit more focussed and calm in pressure situations.

I think there's no doubt he's in our best 22 when he's good but I think recently he has been a liability.

Scarlett is the obvious inclusion with Hank and the Duke required to prove their fitness through the week. Based on the form of the Scoobies, Prismal & Charlie are also knocking on the door. If both Hank & the Duke are fit then:

In: Scarlett, Kingsley, Playfair
Out: N Ablett, Lonergan, Slade

But if not:

In: Scarlett, Prismal, Gardiner
Out: D Johnson, Lonergan, Slade

Lets just hope we do some goal kicking practice through the week coz at the moment, we stink!

Got to remember that N.Ablett was matched up on Chris Grant for most of Saturday's match - that's a big deal in your fifth game, to play on a true star like Grant.
I'd be tempted give Nathan another go (unless Kent did come up) and I think we need Blake in - Chambers played his best-ever game yesterday against Melbourne for the Swans.
Blake for Lonners (allowing more forward time for Moons or Otto), Scarlo for an unlucky Callan (he showed a bit on Saturday), Henry for Johnson (damn he needs a lesson).
Don't see the need for wholesale changes in the middle, that's not where we were beaten.
Where is Riccardi at? Could he provide the experience and cool thinking we desperately need in the forward line?
