He'd just been told that tomorrow's fishing trip has been called off due to Parker and Wardlaw plying the boat with a fertiliser-based substance
He also heard earlier in the day the local Irish pub cancelled their 5-6pm Happy Hour.

Love to see what Harvey can do. But let’s be real...he ain't it either. He has one pace, and to put him on a small forward and expect him to shut that player down isn't going to get it done.

Hopefully his great use will at least give us some movement out of defence.

Alot of run between Daniel, Harvey, Parker and Mac

OUT: Hardeman (inj) Logue Fisher
IN: Blamires Pink Harvey

B: McDonald Pink Daniel
HB: Parker Comben McKercher
C: Stephens Davies-Uniacke Blamires
HF: Duursma Darling Zurhaar
F: Curtis Larkey Trembath
R: Xerri Wardlaw Sheezel
I: Simpkin Spargo Kostanty Dawson Harvey

Hate the team. Can easily make 2 or 3 more changes.
But let’s just start with the toxic campaigners first.

FOS, Hardeman and Goater on stand by for Richmond.

No it’s not because a 10 goal thumping the week after of Richmond will just be the wallpaper over the cracks
Unless we're really really shit or suddenly have superior structures against tightarse teams like Port (the defensive malaise of R1 has worn off), Aints and Collingwood, we won't learn anything definitive until R22. I'm expecting an absolute bollocking in R21, as is that fixture's tradition

Agree, but come on taz, haven't you seen enough of Daniel in the back pocket ?

Freo Oval?
The next public session is:

Captain's Run (Fremantle Oval, WA)
Friday, June 12
9am-10.30am AWST

I emailed the club last week and they said there was a full session on Tuesday and Thursday so presumably the Thursday one is behind closed doors.

I would put a line through Daniel and McDonald tonight mutts. We know what we will get from them but still we persist. They ain’t going to get better but to move away from the status quo would be a sizeable change in approach to team selection.

McDonald cares but is out of his depth at this level against the good teams.
Daniel cannot be carried in a backline for a side aiming to play finals. He is too loose on manning up and gets caught in transition frequently.
The result is kamikaze team defence that is leaking points like a faulty tap.

The group trained today at South Fremantle. I will tell right now it would be Daniels and McDonalds and Simpkins putting in the work and being most vocal during the session, demanding they get picked.
And the coaches do it. They select them.
Not because of ability but because on the training track they do the optics well.

When I was drafting my 23 for this week I didn’t have either of them in my best squad but this week Hardeman is injured, Goater has been left behind in VIC and Archer is out for the season.
Being a realist they simply won’t be dropped.

And even when we return to the MCG to play Richmond they won’t be dropped. Blamires and Harvey will make way for FOS and Hardeman.

I ****ing hate it mate. We are going nowhere fast as a club because we are soft at selection.

We've had a few massive games this year with all sorts of pressure on us and this week is no different, all of our own making.

West Coast are hard to beat if they get their tails up, they are aggressive and they physically dominated us in round 2 and we took too long to adjust. After last weekend's debacle you could make a case for a dozen players to be dropped, but that ain't happening.

Changes
In - Harvey, Blaimiers, Pink
Out - Hardeman (inj), Dawson (Omit), Fisher (omit)

Jy goes inside and tags Reid, Reid doesn't cop a tag yet. Massive game for the midfield unit who were comprehensively smashed last week and should be itching for a chance to redeem themselves - especially for the ruckman.

I'm a believer and i am hopeful that last week was the aberration and we will bounce back strongly over the next month.

Is 'strongly' 3-1 or 4-0?

Because I'm strongly of the belief that we've no excuses not to knock off all four

I had us for 8-10 wins at the start of the year and we are on track for that. Hopefully 3 of the next 4 and then 1 of the next 3 after that.

Doubt we pinch one from the last 4 games
