Good joke champ

A teacher legally has a duty of care for those they are left in charge off. Also you have a potential conflict of a teacher teacher the potential victim. You are drawing a long and idiotic bow champ

Alright then, a teacher has been charged with sexual assault of a young woman who is not his student. Is that teacher still allowed to teach before his trial?

I'm actually surprised. The amount of knuckledraggers in here is just staggering.

All these attempts to compare sexual assault to other crimes.

Some people simply do not get it. It's quite grotesque.

Imagine their daughter or sister as a victim. And he's being paraded on primetime TV. How would these people comfort their loved one? "Look, you have to understand that he's innocent until they prove him guilty. Otherwise people like you might make these false claims and derail football careers".

Blows the mind.
Imagine your son is Jack DeBelin and you see him miss 2 potentially 3 seasons miss origin and Australian selection when potentially he has just been falsely accused.

How come nobody voiced their concern of De Goey playing whilst charged until he booted 5 goals in a match winning display? If he were an average joe at another club, nobody would have cared that he played. Paying the Collingwood tax again.

Someone has a persecution complex. Are you forgetting what people said when Luke Hodge was charged with drink driving, which was a far less serious crime than sexual assault.

Well they did, if you cared to read anything on here other than your own posts. And his first game since then was last night.

So believing that. Do you think it would be okay for a teacher who has been charged with sexual assault on a student to be continued to be allowed to teach before his trial? I mean technically it has not been proven he has done anything wrong.
This is not a very good comparison.

It really isnt hard to see why a teacher would be removed from their position.

There are a number of realistic and comparable situations. A member of police? A treating health practitioner? A politician?

Some jobs have an obligation to stand staff down for these types of serious charges. There is case law With employment practices to back this up, but further than that, these types of organisations have a requirement to society to act in a manner of public interest. Public interest promotes victims coming forward.

If it is found to be a frivolous case with malice, then public interest is that these cases are treated accordingly too (Amy Cooper).

No but there is absolutely no reason to punish the bloke when it’s yet to be determined if he has done anything wrong.
Poor bloke.

You don't know that De Goey has been falsely accused. Be a terrible look for the AFL and the AFL media to have promoted and fawned over Jordan "Hiccups" De Goey if these charges result in a conviction.

OP is correct, the fawning over him last night was shocking, that being said The Channel 7 team pump him up regardless whether he's doing anything so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise they'd go overboard once he started kicking goals again.

The subtle insinuation of redemption was in bad taste though.

A quick 60 second search reveals that there was no De Goey discussion about his selection before last night. Only after his performance did this appear to become an issue.

No it won’t be a terrible look because they let the court decide if there was any wrong doing then acted once the verdict was handed down

Come on champ. I take it this is a piss take

If you can’t understand the difference between a police officer who’s job it is to uphold the law and a footballer you have no hope

Where was this insinuation in redemption exactly?

Well it wouldn't be a terrible look for Collingwood, but it would be a terrible look for the AFL as a whole. How can the AFL say on one hand they welcome women in the game but on the other hand continue to let DeGoey play after being charged with sexual assault. It is like saying they denounce racism but allow the President of an AFL club to be openly racist. I mean that last part would never happen.

Imagine your daughter was sexually assaulted and you then saw her perpetrator on TV every week playing infront of thousands, getting lauded for his efforts before he is put to trial?

All the Collingwood players getting around DeGoey after his first goal. Usually that only happens for players who have actually just kicked their first goal, players who have missed a lot of time through injury or players who have been through something terrible recently.
