In all seriousness, I shouldn't have sunk to the levels of others. But bigdroppunt, do yourself and everyone else a favour, and just think before you click the 'Post Quick Reply' button.

It's the pressure building up from everyone trying to keep the lid on.

I'd say this would almost hit the mark.

No malice intended frommy side of the fence. How's the view sitting on top of my fence Tony? :thumbsu: Good place to be ATM.

It's is great to see that we all are very passionate about our hooped warriors.

I'm getting more excited about September each week. THE LID is rattling.

I hope Adelaide gives us a decent run this week.

By the way where has Martyk gone, havent seen his carnage in ages. miss the way he would get everyone so uptight.
Harley's come good, Enright's been excellent, Corey's still a champ and so on. He probably lurks around under a different screen-name so as to avoid the pasting he'd get for being so wrong about so many players.

The sad thing was that everyone he pasted came good, pity he didn't have a go at Hunt,Byrnes etc.

Good point made before....We are in TOP SPOT...and our record so far at 15-3 is bettered i think only once or twice in our history at that stage of the season, 1952 and possibly 1925. We should all focus our attention at the games to come, and stay behind OUR team.

Now, with regards to the aforementioned blokes out, it will be a real bonus to have all these players back at some point before the finals. Chapman is an excellent hard player, Ottens is our best ruckman, Rooke apparently won the AFL players association 'fairest tagger' gong last year, he's an excellent defensive player who can still snag a goal. And Enright is one of the most effective and unobtrusive players one can have, like say a Drew Banfield or going back in time a bit, an Bruce Nankervis. Does his job effectively and can be relied upon to perform. He has done well after taking a while to recover from his broken jaw last season.

With possibly 20% of the side having had some rest before the finals, we are well placed to have just about our best 22 on the park. That has to be an advantage, and something i am sure will stand Geelong in great stead going forward. Remember in 2005, we were minus Chappy for the finals, and lost on the day of the game, King, Harley and also Gary Jr had a sore leg. We were out on our feet in the Sydney final, this season we are much fitter, and should be primed to do what we all want the Cats to do.

Chapman

is he going to play this week? I heard that he would have played last week but because it was Richmond they just rested him. Any news?

Re: Chapman

Mark Thompson mentioned yesterday that he will probably miss one more game.

He is costing a lot of people dreamteam points!

Chapman will be out for the rest of the year. They will rest him til finals time....

Tightening of the groin muscles that may not be present until the day after competition. A sudden sharp pain in the groin area or adductor muscles. Bruising or swelling (this might not occur until a couple of days after the initial injury) Inability to contract the adductor muscles and may take some time to mend.

Injury : does not mend readily - why rush him back?

Because he is in my dam supercoach team and there is no point having a $550,000+ player on my bench

Re: Chapman

i have a feeling its due to his below par form. lates be honest chapman isnt playing at the level he was last year, i was astounded to notice he got in the herald suns best against collingwood and he didnt do that well against the dogs either. This may be due to the injury, and they may think that getting him back to 100% fitness will bring the return of his last years form. We need "the nug" back to his best if we plan on winning the big one.

There's no way they dropped Chappy due to form (even though I agree that he has not had as great a year as he has had in the past), because even in the form he was in, he's still in the 10 most influential in the team.

Re: Chapman

i didnt think so against collingwood or dogs, but i know they'd never drop him and im not suggesting that, im meerly saying theyre giving him a prolonged rest to get him 100% fitnesswise which may be the reason for his poor form.

Against Coll. 26 pos and 2goals
Against Dogs 22 pos and 1goal.
I would consider them good games, lets not forget the tackles and 1%'s he brings to the team.

Re: Chapman

Geelong will i think try to make sure he is cherry ripe and 100%. We were without him coming in to the 2005 finals, with a hammy injury i think in about Rd 19, then he played Rd 22 and did it again. He's a vital player in our mix, and fully fit would make Geelong as formidable as one could imagine coming in to the finals. I also had him in my Supercoach side, but made the call to ditch him, despite excellent scores from Rd 13-16, for Nick Reiwoldt. Chappy will be rested until he feels as close to 100% he can. Geelong's flag aspirations are paramount, and being 3 games+ ahead, we can afford vital players having time off to get themselves right.

I watched the Collingwood game again last night, and I can tell you that imo that was his worst game for several years.
He only kicked one goal (not two as you suggest), and he made absolutely basic skill errors that we do not expect from him. While he wasn't the worst on-field, in comparison to the level he normally plays at, he had a shocker.
I think his speccy in the final quarter gave a false impression to many people that he had a good game. But he didn't go on and kick the goal (which makes the mark useless), and he didn't have a good game.

Looking forward to him coming back and being the Chappy we know and love.

Stand corrected, 23 poss. 1goal. still applies.
