Finally. NOW i can sleep.

Or perhaps watch a reply of the 2007 Grand Final starring one Paul Chapman...

Brian Cook's relief as Paul Chapman re-signs

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!

  • GEELONG has slotted the final piece of its superstar jigsaw puzzle, with Paul Chapman this week agreeing to a new contract.
Chapman's signature allows the Cats to enter the finals having secured their best players for next year and beyond.
Geelong chief executive Brian Cook confirmed Chapman's re-signing and applauded his players for placing loyalty ahead of the cash on offer elsewhere.
"It (Chapman's contract) was done two days ago, and yeah, it is a relief. We're relieved that we have just about got all of our squad done, there's only a handful left," Cook told the Herald Sun yesterday.
"We're very, very happy that Chappy has agreed to terms and we look forward to having him for pretty much the rest of his career, I think, at the club."
Cook refused to reveal the term of Chapman's deal.

No chance in hell Chappy was ever going to leave; but excellent work by Paul and the club to get it out of the way now when most of us thought we'd have to put up with all kinds of speculation during the finals.

great news.

He was pretty much the catalyst in GFC pulling their collective finger out of their @sses in 07. Would have been shocked if he walked away from the club he has worked so hard to help get where it is today.

so prismall definately going next trade period i say, rightly or wrongly.

I wouldn't count that chicken til it's hatched - the Cats Claw MB had a good analysis of what will probably happen list management wise.

Unless, of course, Pris wants out, which of course will complicate things in that regard.

Only if that is his choice as I dont think the club will de-list him.

We have to have 3 live picks in the draft I think the guys who should be most concerned are ...

Tenace - not really much of a chance for him to crack back into the side
Byrnes - varcoe and gamble are better options as small forwards

and Nablett will be the 3rd to go.

The same place he gets all his other ideas

pretty sure tenace is contracted for next year. do clubs delist players while contracted?? does anyone know who's uncontracted besides pris and lonergan?

Club can delist anyone at any time, just have to pay them out. so there is no real point
