He broke Black Caviars prize money record in only 3 more starts than the great mare. Will soon be declared worlds best sprinter. again. Between his lightning last year and his last two TJ's and even his last manikato has probably put up the most thrilling results in Australian racing in recent times. It's hard to pick his best one.
A win in the Everest would make him overtake Makybe diva as Australia's biggest earner of all time and he's only 6.

Amazing how good he can look when he doesn't have to deal with these two

Great thread. Voted Chairmans, because even though they went breakneck, you just don't see sprinters win after bombing the start like that. He's not even in the ****ing shot for most of the straight.

My personal fave is TJ#2. Bit of pocket talking here but I can't believe they sent out that squib Exosphere fave ahead of him, had a nice collect that day. The Manikato win is pure sex too - arrogance over his opposition.

With all that considered, Saturdays may well be his best ever. That's when you you know you're talking about a champion and that's what he is :thumbsu:

He is extremely lucky BC or even Hay List because he would be running 2nd and 3rd a lot beaten a long way. Good ordinary horse, won on Saturday because the moron jockeys went mental up front. I will say Fell Swoop who i am no fan of was just as big as the winner Moreira slaughtered it

lol are any horses any good ever with you Heath?

This time he happens to be right though - BC would obviously flog him and Hay List would have his measure quite easily too.

I didn't disagree, in fact on my figures I agree with both statements, but you know, occasionally old Heathy might say "hey this boy goes good."

Great thread. Voted for Saturday's run as I'm simple and that's the fresh one in my mind. I must've watched it a dozen times now.

There isn't a sprinter in the past 25 years that isn't "lucky they didn't have to compete with Black Caviar and Hay List"

I wouldn't limit this to just 25 years with caviar.

as for chautauqua he could be one of the most talented horses we have seen could he settle closer. you can't really judge him on what could have been but his raw horse talent would be immense.

I voted in line with how history will one day view this.

his record is great, his longevity iss

disagree
Hareeba on his day would totally compete. i wish i could find his Australia day Stakes win against one of the best fields ever. he destroyed them but the stupid racing industry doesnt have any sites that keep videos of all their group one races cos they are incompetent

you could say that about lots of horses and their racing patterns, unfortunately if you tried to ride Chat forward he might not find anything at the end. A horse can only run from a to b in a certain time. Chataqua runs his fastest when ridden back and thats what defines him.

If I could say it about lots of horses I would say it about lots of horses but I don't. His sustained closing speed is freakish and quite simply one of the most talented horses we have ever seen in that aspect.

Gerard Whately declared the win the most exhilarating win since Kiwi in '83. Big call from the man that runs caviars fan club.

Good to have him on board. Also gets points for backing him and not losing the faith that he is still an exceptional race horse.
