1.) Are you guilty of being one of those flogs who was worn a Che Guevara T-Shirt?
If so, what were your reasons for donning one?

2.) Che Guevara - freedom fighter or terrorist?

Man i never understood why this became such a materialistic iconic image of the early 2000s. It was sad to watch people flaunting their che shirts and not understanding what a thug he was.

About 10 years ago i saw a young impressionable uni student with an anti coke world domination shirt - and he was drinking a red can of coke.

I own this one.

Che is one of those guys who if he hadn't died young, he'd be a lot more reviled. History shows that idealistic young revolutionaries almost universally tarnish their legacies with decades of despotism. Guevara's early years as part of the Cuban regime had him off to a flying start, and his legacy was rather dubious to begin with.

lol the uni years.

Bless their little cotton '$70 but I am not a capitalist' Dead Kennedys hoodies, those lolly water socialists.

Contrast him and Castro. Castro has lived to an old age, and as such will mostly be remembered as an old man with ailing health. Guevara is remembered as a ruthless bloodthirsty revolutionary soldier of the Marxist movement. History will be kind as a result.

Regardless of what the US were doing he had decisions to make and he made the wrong ones thereby ruining the Cuban economy.

Guevara's influence on the Cuban economy is massively overstated. Yeah, he worked with Castro to oust Batista and implement the socialist rule, but was only in Cuba for a short period of time before heading elsewhere to start other revolutions in Africa and Latin America (worked beautifully in Bolivia ).

I don't follow.

Poorly worded by me really. As Guevara died young, good looking as a revolutionary he is seen be people looking back (chiefly those with a poor understanding of what he did) as a 'positive' person. Someone to be proud of. Aesthetics mean a lot in modern society, and as a result Guevara will benefit. If he had lived to an old age and battled ill health (like Castro) modern day public perceptions may not be so kind.
