I thought Chris Bryan in his first game for the year showed he is far more valuable around the ground than, Mclaren, French and Deluca. Thoughts?

would give him 4 out of 10 and looking forward to better next week and the week after and so on.

It was a good effort for his first afl game in ages, has more ability around the ground than, deluca, mcclaren, french. IMO he can handle the pressure better and looks more composed, also his kicking is handy. Hope he gets a few games and keeps improving.

I am giving him credit for his potential. I think his game today is 4/10 compared to what I think his best game is.

I agree, really trys and makes a effort, unfortunately i dont think he is good enough to be first ruck but is a great back up who can be used in other positions.:thumbsu:

Its about time Chris Bryan got a game, good game considering its his first for the year.Much better than Adrian Deluca...Why the heck has it taking Pagan this long to give the guy a game...

or is it because of Pagans patient methods that he played a good game?

I think for next year, Bryan and Mclaren need to share the ruck duties.

Deluca must prove lots over pre season and in the Bullants next year.

If Frenchy's contract is up then he must be moved on, and we must try and get a Fabian DeLuca from Port who a few say wants too come homes (who knows?), and develop our own ruck man.

We need too accept that Bryan and Mclaren at best may hold their own, and we can play too the other ruckman for another 12 months until we sort out our ruck options as we move forward.

Bryan seem too have decent mobility, a sound kick and strong hands.:thumbsu:

Fabian DeLuca signed a 2 year contract with Power during the week so he is not an option. I was a little surprised that we chose Jordan Russell ahead of John Meesen and Cameron Wood in the 2004 draft, both being worth the risk as developing ruckmen.

Agree with that, hopefully Russell will start showing that he is a worthy no 9 pick soon though. Hasnt shown that he can cut it at this stage but still early days. We are in dire need of a new ruckman, i still like what Bryan offers around the ground but not as a no 1 ruckman but who knows, he may improve. It would be good to have another developing ruck option on our list like wood or meeson, hopefully our second rounder can secure a half decent ruckman.
