Would be totally happy with him as he is - toughest nut in club :thumbsu:

BUT

I am pretty sure he was saying he was 5% off peak fitness. He said he was not playing like he did in 2006 but gave no indication that he thought those days were gone :)

Bloody DUD!!! :p:rolleyes:

Seriously, let's have this discussion around this time next year after he's had a rest then a pre-season. As is he goes ok the boy. :D

Hey guys, just interested to read your feelings on Judd. Interesting on "O.T.C" last night he suggested that he may only have another 5% to give on what he is producing ATM. What if this statement is true and he will never return to the form that saw him win the Brownlow in 2004, dominate the competition in 2006 & poll 16 votes in 8 games at the start of last year... Will you be content with the biggest signing ever in AFL history??? Would you be content with his output. Or would you be disappointed, that we traded for a worn out superstar...

Personally if Juddy was playing at what he suggests to be 95% and players like Gibbs, Murphy, Russell & Walker can continue to learn & develop from him being around, i wouldn't be to upset to be honest. Some may differ, but that is the situation we are in...

post your thoughts please...

Content..

But you have to ask the question do we really want judd being smashed week in week out, with the no1 tagger on him for the next 5 plus years?
It is just me or did anyone else noticed he looked really "heavy" in the legs in the game against the pies. He just really looked buggered...maybe is just the way his changed his game? More crash and bang in the packs taking its toll.....I think his really feeling it from not having a full pre-season as well and a week off against the hawks or someone which where probably not going to beat might be a good idea.

Still, Judd jogging around is still awesome

I'd pay to watch him open a can of Pea & Ham soup.

It was mentioned earlier, but Chris Judd is a very humble man.

If you were asked the question on a national TV show about how you think your going and at what percentage your at, coming off a couple of near best on grounds, your hardly going to say "well I think I'm at about 80%, so how f_____g good am I ganna be when I get to a hundred".

I think he'll be right but will continue to battle at patches throughout the year.

Judge him based upon what he does in clutch situations. When the games are on he'll be there. When your sides a challenger in a couple of seasons when you really need him - his early training at my club will shine through ...;)

I reckon that he is pretty content now...

After seeing what a rabble we were and where we have gotten to now with Ratts properly in charge around the club, I reckon that he would be pretty happy with the progress we have been making.

He saw what we were planning off the field and thought it was a good setup that was being put into place. He would have seen that we were also getting sorted out in the administration side of things with Pratt putting some good people in place and thats what made him decide that he wanted to come to us.

nuff said really... He would be pretty content... we arent going to win a grand final this year or next, but he knows that it's just down the road that he will win a couple more grand finals with the blues before he retires.

I am very content with what Chris has brought to the table, i feel that he is one of the many reasons marc murphy has matured as a player, and i reckon just having his presence at the club has helped the young players because he has so much that he can teach them. Many of the players have said this also.

Watching him dodge around 3 Collingwood players and then swing onto the left and hit Simpson told me he's not far off his best. Sure the power is not there but his best ability- winning the ball in contested situations is there and he's the best in the league at it. He was involved in just about every stoppage in the last quarter against Collingwood - has there ever been a better clutch player??

On top of that we were crying out for a good leader and I think he's been fantastic. Not as vocal as other captains but leads by example.

I feel lucky sometimes that I barrack for the Blues.

when i saw footage from 'on the couch' of Judd running around in '06 i was surprised to see that in fact he definitely had greater acceleration back then. Having said that, it is no surprise given the nature of the surgery he had. But his running style has always looked a little bit proppy so now its sometimes difficult to try and assess if his groin is sore or that is just him running normally! He will no doubt get quicker, but not this year. I agree with the other persons comments that it has taken akermanis about 2 years after the same surgery to hit top gear.

Hi guys, a newbie here from south oz (safooty.net). Read this forum with interest to catch up on the blues goss. If the cows or poower dont play us, then you hear jack.
As for Judd, whether it is 5 or 10%, the real issue is the way he has been tagged or manhandled more accurately. He was never subjected to this for a full game at the eagles beacause of the spread of quality midfielders around him. As murph, stevo, bentick and maybe gibbs start causing more damage and get more attention then lets see if the acceleration returns.

very content with juddy. he is quiet, humble and confident and when that groin properly heals and recovers on the break in oct 2008, i think you will begin to hear, see and feel the air of excitement as he returns to 100%.

aker said on game day a while ago it takes nine months. last year akermanis was a shadow of his former self. now recovered, he is i think 5th in the line of brownlow medal betting. and mind you, playing unbelievable football.

juddy will get that acceleration back and when he does, the whole competition is going to feel it.:):thumbsu:

I think so of you guys are missing the point of this thread. It was suggesting that would you be content if judd has/is giving his best right now. Say in 4 years time, if Juddy continues to produce what he is now, was he worth it??? I would suggest that if he continues at this rate, and Murphy & Gibbscontinue to develop into top line onballers, could it be that he wont get the number 1 tagger, Hence would you be satisfied with the trade???

Personally i would.
