I would be looking at Hawthorn and throwing up C. Judd for M. Williams and L. Franklin. Maybe some swapping of draft picks either way to even it up.

Hawthorn, or more specifically Brereton, has already offered far more than that for Judd a couple of years back. It involved 4 of Hawthorns' best players IIRC. He was quizzed about it after a game once, and admitted to it. But in his own words: "West Coast told me where to go."

I reckon 90% would take Brown and 5.

I doubt it. Brown can't even get onto the park. Judd on the other hand is not only a better player, but is far more durable.

picks 1 to 10 in this years draft :)

only jokin, eagles will get rid of him wen he is on his last legs

If Collingwood chose Judd over J. Brown AND pick 5 I would be absolutely putrid and would demand that the person responsible for this decision was sacked immediately.
Many posters have claimed that Judd is "head and shoulders" above ANY midfielder in the league................absolute rot. He aint that far ahead of 2 players he actually shares a square with every week.
Dont get me wrong, he is a sensational player and the best midfielder going around but some of the suggested trades are ludicrous.
Also, the circumstances of his leaving WC would have a bearing on ALL potential trades. WC would get less if Judd requested to be traded back home than if a club just came in with an offer to trade. In that case they would have to offer a ridiculous amount just to get the WC officials to the table.

Like I said, Brown can't even get onto the park. Would you rather Brown for a handfull of games a year? Or Judd for a full year?

Unless Judd asked to be traded to a specific club, I don't believe we'd get much less for a trade if he opted to head back to Vic. Can you imagine the bidding war?

There were different cirumstances each year, this year it was injury, the years before suspension.

For the record, I wouldnt even consider it, would take Brown without blinking. Would have won the brownlow, and the coleman this year had he avoided injury. Dominant KPP players win you premierships, your midfield were the main factors behind your premiership, but Lynch and Hansen, and a **** game from Hall, were the difference between winning a loosing a premiership, and you still only won by a point. Stick Brown in the W.C team, and i dont think you would loose a game for about 3 season's running, take Judd out, and there wouldnt be a massive difference.

P.S: You could get Kerr for alot less than Judd, and hes just as good.

hes captain of the club FFS!....he has alot more pride and dignity than leigh colbert and gavin wanganeen!...the man lives and breaths the eagles!...i cant see chris ever walking or the eagles ever trading him.even when he is shot and limping in the end of his career he will stay,he is the face of the club and brings fans through the gates...fun topic though!

 If Judd is more valuable than Brown (and that's arguable by many), then it's not a pick 5 difference. If Clubs were offered the following :

I would take Chris Judd in a heartbeat. Soooooooooooo much more consistant than Brown it's not funny. Brown fires, but not as much as Judd... nowhere near it in fact.

If you've got a bunch of midfielders who can pinpoint your forwards on the chest with precision, you don't need awesome forwards.

The reason we used to dominate Brisbane, is because our midfield would run over the top of theirs, and give our limited forward line at the time, far more opportunities. Also Judd ripping them a new bum crack every time didn't hurt.

Brown has been fairly average against West Coast, as the ball simply doesn't get down to him enough. In fact the last couple of times Brown has played against us, he's ended up in the midfield. The whole "KPP forwards win you premierships, not midfielders" is a little old fashioned. These days it's a running game, as we have proven by winning the big one.

And as far as Sydney goes, it's the gameplan they use against us that usually keeps it close. Sure their forwards are a key component of that, but we have no trouble beating the Saints, who also have a great forward line. The reason Sydney got so close in the GF was mainly due to biased umpiring, and us running out of legs due to a tough finals series. I thought we did very well to hold them off, given the circumstances.

Oh, and Kerr is not nearly as good as Judd. He's a fair way behind both he and Cousins.

nice attempt - so i won't hang you but these caught my eye

I dare say you must be a hawks supporter

forgetting Judd - i guess you think

Hodge/Franklin = hall malceski and pick 1 = black bradshaw and moody = fevola & murphy

hodge/franklin would be the least attractive of those four options

Actually Im a Swans fan and I realise that a lot of the trades are of different value. The thing with the Hodge trade is you get a player who when healthy(and he wasnt all year) is not far off Judd and would still keep the Eagles midfield elite, and the young key position player with more potential than any in the league(plus he is from WA). Eagles biggest weakness is at CHF.

Right now those other guys are better combos. With Brisbane, Black and Moody are both WA boys and Bradshaw appears to be gone anyway, you give up a very good midfielder for a great midfielder and the rest are what balance it out. Franklin has the potential to be better than Hall, Hodge is better than Malcieski, thats kind of the theory there.

I mean its really hard. You cant do a 1 for 1 trade of the best player in the game which makes trade scenarios with Judd hard. Also, outside of Cousins, the Eagles are a very young side and are more likely to take a young prospect like Franklin, than a guy approaching the downside like Hall. Of course, all that doesnt consider that if West Coast are trading Judd, its almost certainly because he has demanded it, which puts them on the backfoot anyway and lowers his value so he could theoretically be had for less.

Would definately offer

Riewoldt and Pick 27 for Judd
or
Riewoldt and Pick 9 for Judd and Pick 16

Maybe Riewoldt, Dal Santo and Pick 9 for Judd and Cox.

Theonly players I wouldn't consider trading for Judd are Harvs, Ball, Kosi and Goose.
