Some quotes on Chris Knights - because of the quantaty I won't acknowledge each aurthor - but Thanks
32. Chris Knights (Geelong) - Hasn't played much as a HBF but I think he would be ideal in the role and could step into the Darren Milburn sort of roles. His stocks have been falling all year but he certainly has plenty of quality. Could really be a later round bargain.

Chris Knights - was expected to star this season on the back of last year but he really hasn't quite put it all together. Left footer who is silky and stylish and loves a goal. Will be interesting to see how he goes with a tight tag. Will probably have to be near Eastern's best if they are to win

Chad Knights

Alright i'm going to swallow humble pie and admit i don't know anything about him. Does anyone know anything

Is he related to Chris?
:D

With James Fantasia's record with late picks I reckon this kid could prove to be a steal. According to James, Knights is a medium midfielder who is a big left foot kick and can get a lot of possesions. Apparently he also puts the head over the ball.

Try him as a tagger I say :D

Im not sure what it is about this kid, but ive got this great feeling that he could be something special. Ive got nothing to back that up with, as i know nopthing about him other than whats been written on footydraft.com. Its just a genuine gut feeling and the fact that he was expected to really be up there this year and wasnt for whatever reason, suggests he has some talent. And the fact that Crows had said they wouldnt use pick 56, suggests they thought he was worth changing their minds.

Re: Chad Knights

I believe he is a twin - could that impact on his ability to move? Don't some twins find it hard to be seperated?

Believe me Fanta has done it again with a late pick.

I have said on another thread this boy can play.

A lovely penetrating and accurate kick for goal. Works well in close. Good skills in heavy traffic. The inside midfielder we need to have

If fit (has had some problems with a knee this year) he has the potential to be one of our best midfielders in two or three year's time.

He impressed me each time I saw him play.

Could be the best late pick Fanta has picked up and I am not overstating the situation here.

Chris is a very polished player. Wins a ton of the footy and has a long left foot kick. a very hard worker and has the ability to open games right up. loves a goal to. had trouble with his knees this year but once fully fit will become a house hold name. he is a steal at pick 56. spoke to him yesterday and he is wraped to be going to adelaide

Great to hear the kid's happy to be drafted by Adelaide.

If he lives up to your wraps I'll be delighted. :)

This kid has been talked about as a special talent for a while.

Trouble was he failed to consistently play to his talent level - means his upside is huge, also means he could be a dud.

Lets hope not. ;)

John Reid was talking about him on 5AA a few minutes ago.

Reidy said the same thing about him being a special talent - a top 20 pick. He also said that Knights had grown from 190 to 195 cms during this footy season and as a result had very sore knees in the growth plates, but that as his height stabilized his form was coming good again at the end of the year.

He expects him to be a very good player.

EDIT: That should read from 180 cms to 185 cms

Macca is that 190 to 195cm?
Or
180 to 185cm ?

Are you sure about the 195cm? Footy Draft has him at 183...which is more your typical onballer height. I have also seen him described as a mid-sized midfielder, and 195cm for a midfielder is certainly not mid sized.

If by chance he grew from 183cm to 195cm during the season he must be on growth hormone injections. :D

I've mentioned elsewhere about his comments that Meesen and Van Berlo are the two that he thinks could well play next year.

He also made the point, as many of us have, that the club is wrapped with what it got for it's picks. Also that Alan Stewart had had a good effect on our draft by combining his intelligence with Fantasia's giving them the advantage of 2 lots of knowledge. Van Berlo was one of the examples he used.

He also made the point that while the players they took may have changed by players becoming available that they thought wouldn't be there, eg Meesen and Van Berlo, they stuck to their drafting plan religiously other than adding in #56, when they decided they just couldn't ignore knights for that pick. He was totally chuffed with the selections that were made. He said that the whole recruiting team were.

He was asked whether training was very different to that of previous years, and he said definitely that it was. Craigy had his ideas on how the game should be played and training was revolving around that at all times, even at this early stage.

I have to admit that I do like the direction that the club has taken so far under Craig, even though it is early days.

Yes although it is still early days Craig has done nothing wrong and only enhanced his standing in my eyes - early days though ;)

With regard to Stewart, I heeard that he was consious of not being seen to do the dirty on Port by becoming involved with Adelaides draft plans, given he had so much intelligence from Port.

Did want to leave Port on good terms and not burn any bridges.

To here that comment from Reid re Stewarts involvement is therefore a little strange

Yeah, Stewart was on TV a while back saying he couldn't use anything from his time at Port because they still owned the intellectual property until after the draft. He possibly could have gone through the camries stuff and given his thoughts on what they were doing though.
