Although Van Berlo may be picked this week, maybe it is the time to put some acid on Chris Ladhams.

Give him four or five consecutive weeks in the side to see whether he is finally ready to consistently make it at this level.

Reasons:

Jars believes he may have seen the light at last in terms of having a decent crack at playing good football at this level.

His form in the SANFL has been as good as anyone on our list.

He can kick a goal. We are screaming out for players who can kick a goal and who can crumb.

We need to make a decision on players like Chris. if he cannot make the grade this time, we make the decision to not play him for the remainder of the year in favour of a Van Berlo or Knights. He then will be cut at year's end.

By this time (six weeks time) Van Berlo will probably be ready to play some AFL anyway if his form holds up. So if it is not Ladhams who will be dropped it will likely be some one else. i can think of 5-6 players whose names immediately come to mind.

I see this as his last chance!!!!

Agree totally BM. I think he needs to be given the chance early and then flick him off to North for the rest of the year if he can't do th job and show that he is capable of smart football. Undoubted ability, the boy, but some serious attitude issues and lack of desire to succeed.

One more go to succeed or it's "no soup for you!!"

I'm tending to agree at the moment. Fit-and-firing, Ladhams is definitely one of our best-22.

Bode and Ladhams fit and firing would be a great thing for the crows.

If we are going to use SANFL form as the basis for selection then he must be picked. On field I see more up side to him than Skipworth, Doughty, Bode, Shirley.

Off field????

Well you hear the rumours. Lets hope he gets it together.

Ladhams in for skippy- thats this week. Stick him in the forward pocket and get him to rove stevo, welshy and trent. But you have to give him a chance, 4 goals for the roosters last week is quite impressive

NEXT !!!

Ladhams needs to come in and told......"you've got til the mid season break to resurrect your career, you will play half forward each week, if it doesn't work....tell ya story walking..."

I say bring him and The Count in ......for 2 of the 4 transition smalls/mids still in the side...

"Meh"

Let Mcleod play in a FP and keep Roo, Edwards, Thompson, Goodwin, Reilly and Mattner on the ball put up Van Berlo and pick 3 of - Bode, Doughty, Ladhams, Skipworth, Shirley, Begley.

Well Bode will miss this week with a bad shoulder. There are some rumblings around that Shirley will miss with a corky.

OUTS: Hart, Bode and Shirley.

VB most likely to make his debut.

I posted somewhere else that NC has been extremely disappointed by Ladhams' pre-season. His fitness is not good enough for an AFL footballer and his attitude needs to improve. Judging by Phil Harper's comments before the Collingwood game, Ladhams is a few weeks away form getting selected. I would be very surprised if Ladhams gets picked this week.

ladhams is getting alot of support.......... i'm not sure why though, an average supporter can see hes had his time, and if he gets another chance he should consider himself lucky.
problem is BDJ, Lads would be in our top 10 naturally talented players - thats why he gets the support... :) ......he is worth another chance this year... ;)

I agree, he needs to be given a few consecutive games to prove for the last time whether he is worth keeping.

I'd be playing Ladhams for sure this week if I was picking the team.

We lack crumbers and the ball looks like being on the ground quite a bit this weekend - we need goals from those circumstances.

He can also play HF flank or wing.

Time for Ladhams to stand up and be counted or be delisted IMO.

That also applies to Begley, Bock, S Stevens, Doughty, Shirley, Shuie, Freddy, M Stevens, Massie, Perrie - the list just goes on. :(

At this stage Shirley and occasionally Perrie look like saving their skins at year end.

Ladhams is a different case though. He has something the others don't have - natural ability and skill.

We need to know whether he's prepared to give us the benefit of that, or whether he just wants to be lumped in with the scrubbers that have no skill.

We need to play him to find out once and for all. Last chance.

I'm not sure why he's not in the Crows side now, he is a fantastic player for North Adelaide and kicked some great goals. Only played about 15 games last year yet took out our B&F, if i was picking the team he would be in for sure...

I don't mind too much though as i'd rather him at North

If he plays like normal he will be exposed by Port who are hard running and committed.

Its a big risk.
Its a huge risk. Port will pick apart the Crows if not careful.

Well I hope Chris can get a game and hold his spot for the rest of 2005.

If he can, it could be a nice little win for Ladhams, Craig and more importantly the AFC. It would be great to see, as it would a good demonstration of Ladhams character and it would also show the club is getting improvement from the second stringers.

It all depends on his reasons for being on the outer.

If it relates to attitude and behaviour, he should only be reinstated (if at all) once he has shown that he has got the message.

if that's teh case, great. Otherwise I don't support giving him an extended run, becuase it's not his form that may be the problem.

yep i agree

Both supporters and the club have shown too much faith IMO. With his poor attitude and lack of desire to reach match fitness, he should have been the first player delisted at the end of 2004. We need to be ruthless when it comes to list managment.

Last chance for Ladhams.

Last chance for Ladhams.

Sheedy went on and on about him when Esendon lost him, so maybe there's a slim chance of some trade value still. We all know how Sheedy loves to think he cab change players with bad attitudes. Anyway, I hope he blows them away this weekend, but I'm not holding my breath. What a wasted talent to date.
