If someone told you 18 months or 2 years ago this bloke would be the most accurate goalkicker in the comp you would have laughed. Second efforts, commitment, and forward pressure second to none. An important part of Fremantles best 22.

he missed an important one on the weekend but yeah, he's integral to the team. finally starting to get some notice over east too. he's changing the way medium/tall forwards play as he's damaging without the ball as with. we're going to see forwards with no defensive ability become a liability in the modern game and we're fortunate to have a great exponent of the modern forward.

He's a terrific forward who plays his role exceptionally well for the team. However I find that whenever he lines up for a set shot from 40m plus, he either doesn't make the distance, or kicks it out on the full. That most accurate kick for goal stat is flawed.

Close to my favorite player.

tbh, we have allot of what you'd call "modern "forwards" who have a defensive game. Even Walters, i get the feeling part of his seemingly lacking effort was a result of bad preparation. He always tried on the field. Now he has a coach to direct his energies to a game plan he is simply awesome.

Pretty good shot for goal and his defensive pressure is up there with the best in the league.

Very important player for us now :thumbsu:

Absolutely love this bloke, class act, you can tell how much he lives the club too

Blimey, Hill would have been crucified on here if he had been the one that missed that shot at the end.

Did anyone else notice Mayne sprint 100 metres with 10 minutes to go to try chase a Bomber running through the middle? He came from 50m back and got within 5m of him before he kicked the ball.

That sort of relentless - often unrewarded - effort is why he should never get bagged for mistakes.

Yes, saw it. Typical legendary effort from mayne.

I dont want human, I want robot.

25 years maybe..

right now the best walking robot takes 15 minutes to program just to walk to the fridge and fetch a beer

maybe we'll have robot waiters in the stands serving drinks before we get robot players :)

Mayne has had a great start to the season with 1 memerable moment that many people will dwell upon.

During the game Pav missed an easy set shot, Ballas missed two easy set shots etc...

The simple fact is Freo should have put the Dons away when they had the chance.

He's an accurate kick? so why did he hit the post... ;)

Lets just forget about that kick! And blame it on the fact, that why the hell was he having to make a kick like that when we were so far in front in the first half!
His confidence is going to be dashed after that, lets just hope doesn't turn back into a human sprinkler because of it.

I expect Mayne will be angry with himself for missing that kick at goal. I just don't want the rest of the AFL world, particularly the Freo supporting segment of it, to be mad at him too.

Mainy is a legend, he is similar to ballas, you just know he is going to give you 110% every time he puts the boots on and he bleeds purple.

Don't blame the guy as he was stuffed, absolutely off his feet by the time he took that kick. But he deserved for that ball to go in between the big sticks.
I think the footy gods have got quite a bit of good karma owing some of our players, essendon, those muthas are going to get eaten by the karma bear.
