There were rumours? News to me haha.

Not that it hasn't been pointed out by numerous Collingwood supporters when discussing Gibbs & his house, but Yazz buying a house could indicate he has no plans to move back to WA when he is out of contract at end of year.

There were rumours doing the rounds that Eddie suffered a falling out with Yaz and Jeffie, and that contributed to his decision to leave.

I'm not sure how credible the rumours ever were - but they were out there :)

Fingers crossed that it means Yaz see's his future in Melbourne!

We know he's always been able to do the flashy, jaw-dropping stuff. But his defensive game at the moment is spot on. Credit to him. Agree with A_McKay sign him now & for a long time.

I laugh like Bender every time Yarran takes off and trolls the players who are chasing him. Appears to put on the cruise control to glide along without even breaking into a sweat. Montagna looked like Mclean chasing him.

That one touch take with the left hand to snaffle Everitt's errant handball.

Penny appears to have dropped with Yarran. Arguably our most consistent player this year.:thumbsu:

Interesting draft year was 2008 and especially so for the top ten.
After 5 years it's still hard to be firm on which order you'd want them in given the time again.

Yarran is the player most drop out after he has a bad game or two, yet he could well end up being the best or maybe second best of that grouping.
 
I don't want to be a killjoy but a serious question - did not see game and wondered did the Aints tag him? I am still a little worried about how he will go when good teams realizing his importance to us - man him up hard. I know they cannot catch him but will they be able to keep him out of the play?

Have always wondered though why we don't add a heavy silicon coating on the face of the jumpers rendering them impossible to hold onto.

Feel like Yarran's been everywhere in his young career thus far. Shone quite early with his dashing pace and skills, had his fair share of injury concerns over the years. It has been a bumpy ride without doubt.

You get the impression he is past it all. Developed a seemingly strong relationship with Mick (as indicated in the HUN spread recently), and is now playing free flowing football in undoubtedly his finest season to date.

Has also developed into a mature and confident young man by the sounds of that post-match interview also. All this and only 23.

Keep it up Yazza! And please sign him for 4 years ASAP, although he seems quite settled so I'm not worried.

That's why the likes of Mick make for good coaches as he's not beyond reproach.

Now, if Mick can get Lucas and Bootsma to fully buy in, he will have done very well. I'm still hoping but time is running out.
 
His commitment to the cause has been questioned in the past and rightly so but he appears to have turned a corner and is playing the type of consistent footy we need to see.

Keep it up Yazz and that massive potential will become a scary reality week in week out.

Too much has been expected of Yaz while he was in fact a very young player still developing.

And don't forget his origins. As Emma Quayle pointed out recently, that he is even playing at this level is a success story. That he is an emerging star of the comp makes the story all the more fantastic.

For a long time he has been compared unfavourably with Rioli. But that running goal reminded me of Long.

He and Menzel, who the ABC commentators were comparing favourably with Wingard last night, are guns.
