Yep, was loving watching him show those signs and display some of his silky skills in what was a pretty dreadful game to watch.

Give him time, I have no doubt he will be very valuable for us in the future. Geez he's not a bad size either, especially at 18 yrs old. He will only get fitter and stronger too and along with the fact he can also take a good tall mark, there's exciting times ahead :)

I think the pressure of those issues have lifted of his shoulders Thy. :)

I was on the fence on the half forward flank where Yazz was for a couple of quarters so had a very close look at him. The kid moves beautifully and positions himself superbly. Like Gibbs, he seems to find space and has a lot of time. He was able to drift off his opponent and run into attacking zones.

It did appear though that he lacked a lot of confidence. Or, he didn't have faith in his instincts (I think he is a very instinctual player). As such, he hesitated too much. This is no criticism, it was the young fella's first game and is understandable.

I would love to see Ratts play him for at LEAST the next 6 - 8 weeks uninterupted. Let him find his feet and get a feel for the game. I think that this will also benefit those around him, because the impression I got is that Yazz can do the freakish, and team mates will have to get used to him and how he uses the ball.

Good stuff from the YAZZ!!!!

I agree. On Saturday night he played as every crumbing forward has to play when they play for Carlton given the Fev-centricity of our midfield i.e. in the Fevola channel. Once he convinces his teammates of his ability and starts to back himself a bit more, he'll find his own space, create a genuine second marking option in the forward line and, hopefully, partially break the spell Fevola seems to hold over our midfielders every time they deliver the ball into the forward line. Yarran is going to prove to everyone that Carlton was incredibly lucky to end up with pick 6 given the temptation we would have had to pick someone else had we ended up with a higher pick.

1 NicNAt please....

other than that, no
:thumbsu:
You know Naitanui better than I do and he has huge upside.

Yet even Naitanui won't out jump and out body a Sandilands who is straight out a horror film.

Unless Naitanui can play in a KPP, I think our ruck division is pretty much sorted for the next ten years.

Yarran is more of a sure thing to win games in his first three years than any of the talls. I don't subscribe to the theory that you should go tall for need and overlook a gun midfielder. Hawthorn lost with Roughead and Franklin kicking seven goals between them and Rioli firing.

Their midfield was pretty badly beaten.

Yarran can be moved around more than a KPP if he isn't getting kick in the forwardline.

Ziebell looked like a glacier when Leon Davis won the ball and ran away from him.

Carlton supporters will enjoy the day Yarran, Walker, Betts and Garlett take the field in a game.

Schoenmakers will be better than Yarran. Should have taken O'keefe and 12 for 6 and drafted Schoenmakers.

Quiet in class! That's better. Now, can anyone tell me the major differences between these 2 posts? Anyone? As soon as you have submitted your answer you may read your term book Negativity - A First World Disease for the rest of the period.

The major difference is that no one has a clue that my alter egos are AndyWalkersGirl and HodgePodge.

Yeh Yarran looks promising ..would have preferred Rich though ..wouldnt hurt to have an extra elite midfield in the middle ..

I'm hangin to see NicNat play, only saw one or two games from the Champs last year. Seems like a really good and nice kid and I hope he can live up to expectations because he's probably feeling a fair bit of pressure and it sounds like he'll be an excitement machine....ditto Yarran....I remember NicNat saying that Yarran was definitely the best out of himself, yarran and I think one of the other draftees...maybe Rich (?).

But didn't they say that Yarran can play in the mid filed as well, once he gets his fitness up?

An admiral disclosure but I'll warrant it be in your best interests to keep them private if they are that major, General?

How about in the 1st term, when he just sweetly tapped the ball to himself and ran through the pack. ;)

Have to admit the laptop did get bumped to the floor on that occasion. :o

What are you doing here?

You're too smart, loyal and witty for BigFooty.

You have to attack, attack, attack your own club so they realise what they're doing wrong. /The Gyro Captain

You lie. You'd have to be a moron not to spot a TG alter ego. Just look out for the "TG Conjunction".
