Worth a punt if still available when we get to pick. 100% better than any back up for Fraser we have at the moment.

You're wrong.ernie burger said:if we did that it would be another move in the wrong direction, consantly do we pick up players that are too old and have nothing left in them i.e. jarrod molloy, cummings, morrisson if we get clark keating it will not win us a premiership

Finally some sense - I thought I had drifted into some bizzaro worldRohan25 said:We have to go for youth. There are always players who are expected to be drafted in November, but for whatever reason end up slipping through the cracks. You can pick up a real gem at the PSD or as a rookie. And what if we get Keating and he falls over? It's too big a risk.
During the finals I heard the 3AW crew talking about the recruiting of the Melbourne clubs, and they mentioned the last PSD, and how Collingwood had the sense to avoid the whole McLaren/Camporeale/Heffernan circus that Carlton and Essendon got swept up in, and took a punt on Sam Iles instead. I've looked at a few of 2005's mock drafts and some people predicted Iles would be a 2nd rounder. With the talent on offer this year we would be mad to go for someone like Keating.
Exactlydalethomas13 said:please..... clark keating?????? Absolutely not, injury prone, unfit, his body is on its last legs and is on the verge of retirement. Not interested in a recycled ruckman and agree that this will be a step in the wrong direction. Just keep going to the draft and even PSD and draft young prospects and develop them ourseleves- there isnt a better way really.
MarkT said:If we cut a dozen players including Fanning, Walker, Hall and maybe Richards then I’d be happy to take Keating in the PSD as long as we drafted a young ruckman as well. A big cull would allow us to take all the youth we thought worth while. We still have duds we should have delisted last year and players we should have traded last year for draft picks. Doubt we’ll cut that deep though.
You shouldn’t really look at a Keating or Everitt decision in isolation. I’d love to get Everitt if we could get him cheap and let Fraser drop down to change ruckman, dangerous forward and have Fraser and a new draftee as apprentices to Everitt who whatever else might be wrong with him is a first class tap ruckman.
