Stephenson can get it (a lot) and he is rarely caught due to his speed. That’s half the battle. I think he’ll be gone off the boards by pick 8, and either North or St Kilda will be very pleased if they land him. He has worked very hard on his game and still has more X factor up forward than the other top 10 candidates.

The club that bids that early better genuinely want him. Balme already said even though we'd like to have him, that there is no guarantee that we'll match a bid or select him. It depends on if he believes there would be a better prospect with that pick or not. It would be a bit risky for another club to bid on him and get a player they genuinely don't want just to "keep the premiers honest".

Would you be happy if Adelaide bid on Naish with pick 12 (and get him) when they believe there several better players available at that pick?

That would depend really , Clubs usually let FS kids drift a bit unless they are an out and out super star, Whilst 2 people are the only ones that have him in the top 20 Bukennara #7 (lol he really is on the good stuff) Twomey had him at #12 but now has him drifting outside the top 20.

Most draft/Junior watchers have been consistant in their ratings and most had him between 20-30 or mention mid 2nd rounder,Kid is a shortish 180cm and 70kgs not elite speed and average kicking but extremely outside with very little inside game atm. I see a similar range to Connor Menadue range but personally rate Menadue higher than Naish.

Probably. Depends what the situation is. If there are no better players to select at that time, then I think we will. If there is a player who we think is better than him available and there is a reasonable risk of him being snapped up before pick 20 then I don't think we will.

In the end it comes down how we and other clubs rate Naish and other players available. If Naish is the best available then I hope and expect us match the bid.

Going by Balme's comments he is going to do what's best for the list and not do things based on a feel good story. I wouldn't expect anything else.

Fair chance we would, but really, as in all drafts, there are bound to be sliders, and if we really rate one of them, we could easily pass on Naish to be sure to get him. If the bid is with 16, it'll give us a pretty clear choice of which player we want after all.

It'll all come down to the player(s) available, not the pick number.
