Been thrown around quite abit on Bigfooty.
The struggling richmond forward hasn't been getting much of a go at richmond and last year showed enough talent to say that he has got something. Only 22 or 23 and say sentanta doesnt crack it as a CHF or Warnock struggles with injury (god forbid) and kruzer wont get a go at CHF Hughes may be the answer
Carlton are struggling with a 2nd forward ATM, and a 3rd round draft pick would be justified. The negitivity on the Carlton board about trading for players that haven't been so succesful at former clubs and it is too early to talk about this sort of thing but reckon he may be worth a shot
Any thoughts (am expecting to get abuse hurled at me and critized for mentioning it, especially the, Oh if he can't get a game for richmond, why cant he get one for carlton, line)

If you read up about Hughes on the Richmond board you'll find he hasn't been playing footy at all this year. Some have said he's struggling psychologically after the Polak tram incident (don't know how true this is). Richmond supporters would be better equipped to answer questions on his current status.

No, not too interested in the 'steamer' but would like the club to have a good look at Jack Riewoldt...don't know what he would be worth nowadays...has struggled to hold down a position in a poor side, but shown flashes of talent. I think he could be a good fit.

jack wont be going anywhere, thats a certainty.

He's been mentioned on the Essendon, Melbourne and now Carlton boards. Strange considering most Richmond fans don't even want him.

We're also putting into place contingencies if our best players marry the single members of the Royal Family - male or female - and give up footy due to their commitments on the polo field!!!

A big no. Richmond's infamous career destroying backwards development program, systematically crushed any ability this guy ever had. Very few escape the Tiges, and fewer still are able to recover from the damage that their "Richmond experience" caused them - roughly sets them back 2 years for each year they were at the place. :)

I'd take him for Edwards.
Better a kid with the talent who might get his head right than a guy with no chance of ever playing another senior game.

PS: I'd also take Riewoldt for Edwards or Hartlett in a heartbeat.

I'd rather stick with Edwards and/or Hartlett.

The Internet Man can rot in Coburg reserves.

He's shown more than these 2 at AFL level, and think he could be handy next to Fevola in the FP. Would certainly give us another avenue to goal.

The point was that we have 2 KPP already on our list struggling to get a game or make any sort of impact so we don't need another.

I would rather try and develop Hartlett and Edwards than give something up (picks/player) to get a player that hasn't shown that much more than our 2 and is currently struggling in the VFL reserves.

Better a player with some potential than one without.
Edwards / Hartlett have no further upside.

He would if we wanted him.

If last few years have taught you anything, it's whoever Carlton wants, Carlton gets.

This is true. We get what we want, and that's how it should be. The leftovers go to the other Clubs. They know there place. The Tiges not only get the left-overs they are the AFL's official "Last Resort Destination". :)
