Yes correct. This is 100% Youngs decision, stay or go. Hawthorn have no more power than we do....up to Young.

I think he is right on the fringe...but I don't think he is just a depth player. Will be battling with Ellis and Savage for a spot perhaps...but he is more a wingman and Hawks actually don't have a lot of footspeed through the middle. Hodge, Mitchell and Sewell don't really break a line. Young offers the compliment to them.

If he has a few poor games at Collingwood he would also be fringe. Just because he has some pace and a long kick won't ensure him a position (ask Simon Buckley).

I think it will be a case for Clinton which side can offer him the best deal because he probably only has 1 decent contract left in him.
 
Some of those crappy facebook and Twitter accounts are running with "Clinton Young has chosen Collingwood".

Positive signs, but I'll wait for confirmation from a real source before celebrating.:)

Ill actually be really disappointed if we miss out on Young, more so if we were to miss on Lynch.
 
Aside from being an accurate kick, young i reckon is a poor upgrade on Welligham.Welligham has not shown his best yet,i think young has,plus young is so injury prone,this is the worry with him if we get him he may only play a couple of games.We need a decent ruck option and afew speedsters who can run carry and have elite kicking skills then we can have another tilt.So we are looking for a young Jolly.Who fits that bill?

How can you claim Young is injury prone then suggest for us to target McIntosh?

Really! Was certainly 1 thing I thought he wasn't.
Young has a highlights reel and that's about it. His best is very good with long runs and raking kick for goal from 50+ but this is the exception and not the rule. How often do you see players free with space to work in kicking for goal. I just don't see why so many are adamant that we should pursue Young no matter what. I'm happy to take him for a depth player if he comes as FA suggest but that's it. He bad is very costly IMO and I'm not sold he is what the club needs.

I'd like to see another big man come in if Dawes walks which is looking like a reality. Even if it is Pederson, Martin, Giles or the likes. We need insurance in this department and whilst I still agree that Paine and others will become good footballers I still believe they are away off.

Can everyone let go of this trade thing? We don't need ot trade for Young. He is an unrestricted free agent. The only circumstances where we'd need to trade, is if Hawthorn matches our dollar offer and he chooses to still come to Collingwood.

Which Hawthorn might do just for the sake of it.

Not Suprised that the Hawks have upped there Offer. Though I think it came a hell of lot harder to get Young Now:(
 
Ive never seen people get so excited about average-good players. Wonder what this board would be like if we lured an outright superstar.
