you act like i never said they're gonna be good? i just said they won't have the impact young could have in their first season, but obviously your too delusional to see that a seasoned campaigner wouldn't be better then a first year player.

Wellingham was out of contract and wanted to return home. We received a first round pick for him.

Chris Dawes, whilst contracted wanted to move on. We received very good compensation for him and moved him on. If players don't want to be at Collingwood, as Geoff Walsh said, we will accomodate them elsewhere and move them on.

As for Clinton Young, FA closes on Friday. Walsh's comments are very "open" about us being done and dusted are very "open". What is certain is that it's down to us or the Hawks for his signature and that Young has met Pies officials. If it happens, great, if not we haven't really missed out on a hell of a lot.

As for our "premiership window", we will have ample cover to replace both Wellingham and Dawes. Luke Ball will return to the senior side ditto Lachy Keeffe. We also have youngsters like Jackson Paine, Jarrod Witts, Josh Thomas and Paul Seedsman all ready to step up and demand more senior games.

We will be fine.

Our premiership window is still very open. Wellingham and Dawes are replaceable. We have acquired Lynch and we have young Paine ready to kick on. Luke Ball will be a handy return to the side in 2013 and we expect more games from guys like Seedsman and Josh Thomas too.

The first round selections we have acquired for the 2 departures will assist us in replenishing our list with further quality and young talent in order to maintain our competitveness at the top for longer.

Agree. Unless we address our kicking deficiency in our backhalf via this years trade/FA I can't see us being a serious challenger for next years flag.

Also, we are 1 injury to Jolly away from being in danger of not even making the top 4 next year IMO.

I cant believe we havent made skillful small defender and back up ruck our number key focus during this trade period.

when did i ever say he was gonna be the savior?
it is you who is delusional beams and sidebottom filled a deficiency in our side which was in the midfield, defence is harder then midfield and we need someone that can actually kick in this team. if you think anyone we draft from here on in their first year is gonna have more of an impact then young would have then silly you.

WTF is Seedsman a bowl of goldfish? He's a tougher, younger, more skillful and versatile version of Young. After 3 pre-seasons he'll be best 22 next year.

Why is it that so many on our board are infatuated with bringing in new players to fill a hole when we can fill it with someone already on the list??
 
and another thing why can't i listen to trade week radio my computer is crap haha

we don't need players in 3 years? we are currently in our premiership window we need them now? stop acting like i've said our players we have drafted are terrible we have young guns i have said we need a running defender right now not in 3 years time.

currently and in 2013, young will be a far better player than seedsmen

Whilst Young isn't a gun or anything he is still best 22 at Hawthorn and Collingwood. Bringing him in makes us stronger but it also makes them weaker - that is getting him is good business imo.
 
We've got the money for Young, especially post the Dawes trade so very interdasting. It's possible we have 600k or so from Wellers and Dawes exiting. A few de-listings and we might be able to scrape 750k or so.

If Tippett wants to make his way to Sydney via the draft, maybe we've got a booby-trap waiting for him. Have misgivings about the concussion issue, but he can play as evidenced in the prelim.

This will be Seedsman's third year next year so he has served that apprenticeship and is right to go in 2013! In other words he is that running half back wingman we need. Perhaps you should stop going OTT and actually read what others are posting.

I'm neither here nor there on bringing in Young. I just think its folly to go on about premiership windows and whatever when we already have similar players on the list.

Did you just say Seedsman who has played 1 good senior game (Syd Rd 20) in his career was a better version of premiership player Young????!!

c'mon mate that's just being silly. He may have the potential to be better but isnt even close yet.
