I hope we put everything in to Giles first, but would be pretty happy to land Young, especially as a free agent. Would add some needed run and penetration. We shouldn't condemn him for one squib, Rhyce Shaw turned out ok. Most importantly though he adds depth. I'm tired of seeing 3 or 4 unproven players listed on our interchange.

Hey guys hope you don't mind the intrusion. Just thought I'd give you my thoughts on Young.

Back in 2008, he was a pretty important player. His long kicks were great and he was damaging on occasions. After that, the game plan changed from long kicks to short, precise possession football. Young struggled. Now we've gone back to the longer kicks and somehow, he's back in the side.

In terms of footskills, I actually think he's incredibly overrated. He can kick a long ball, sure, but ask him to hit a target and he won't do it. As a side note, his goal-kicking isn't that great. Again, get him on the run from outside 60 and he's a 50% chance, but the media talk him up as a dead eye from that range and it simply isn't true.

He's not a great mark, literally doesn't know how to lay a tackle, and quite honestly is a pea-heart.

I've been against playing him all year, but when I heard about Brisbane, Melbourne and now you guys being interested, I was jumping for joy. Best of luck with him.

Think of all our big players that have had millions thrown at them but stayed with us for smaller amounts

Players do not wnat to leave Collingwood so get over it i doubt many clubs if in our position with two new teams coming in could have keep

Cloke,Pendles,Swan.Thomas,Beams,Sidebottom,Reid

Dawes and Wellingham we could have kept but did not see they were worth it we have gone cold on Dawes and Wellingham is just one of those mids does a job but can be replaced

Do not forget the players we have signed who had plenty of clubs after them

Ball,Jolly,Lynch,Krakour,Tarrant
