Should be shipperd as a director of coaching and test coach with McDonald one day and T20 coachCan't see anywhere else being discussed - seeing reports McDonald is favourite for full role. Would be a good outcome.
Gilly walked and was deemed the ultimate hero, yet every game he appealed for dismissal he knows are not out .
Maybe you're not sure if its bat or pad first, but you know if you've hit it and been caught.I think drs has shown its simply bullshit that every player knows when they have hit anyway, some are happy to walk off when given out and snicko shows no edge others hit the cover off it and review genuinely not knowing they nicked.

I can't remember a batsman blowing a review on an outside edge. You don't though, warner recently walked and didnt review when he didnt edge it and had been given out.
Joe root is notorious for reviewing thin edges where the pad is nowhere near the bat, some always know some don't and drs has exposed that.
but you know if you've hit it and been caught.
The coach is only 1 selector though? You have Bailey as well, I think the comment was purely that players didn't want him anymore coaching, I think there's was a truce 12 months ago where Langer, the players and the board agreed to let him see out his contract, then they start winning and Langer tries to use it as leverage to get an extensionThe eyes of the cricket public will be firmly fixed upon how the team performs from herein. A slip in form, and all hell will break loose. The thing that worries me is some of these "senior players" of which he speaks are rapidly reaching the end of their careers.
I suspect Langer may have looked the likes of Warner, Lyon, etc in the eye and suggested their spots were up for grabs. I think this because of Cummins' comment about sticking up for his team mates. A curious comment that IMHO needs further examination.
If that is the case, then look out Australian cricket... again. My take of the whole fiasco
Cummings is captain
But underneath Smith and Warner run the show
Just my opinion
Pat's an alpha male, I can't imagine he'd take too much into what Warner says. Smith he'd look to for some guidanceMy take of the whole fiasco

alpha male you reckon? He seems like a good boy 'Yes man', who lacks any meaningful thoughts of his own. That's why I believe his role in the Langer sniping is being over-exaggerated- he was just pleasing the mobPat's an alpha male, I can't imagine he'd take too much into what Warner says. But from the past debacle, it seemed that Warner was the prime mover. Smith knew something was amiss, but did nothing.Pat's an alpha male, I can't imagine he'd take too much into what Warner says. Smith he'd look to for some guidance

These two points are wholly unrelated. You're not the best fast bowler in the world being a yes man

“I know from close contacts in the England journalistic world that Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, and Andrew McDonald were caught having conversations in a pub in Hobart. That conversation was heard by two or three British journalists.
“My advice to Pat Cummins would be, if you’re going to have strong conversations about the potential removal of your Australian cricket coach, who was in position at the time, don’t do it at a pub. Do not do it in a public domain where you may get heard.
“That’s how all these stories started. It was quite clear that they wanted Justin Langer out, and evident they were talking about the likes of Trevor Bayliss, Michael Di Venuto and Andrew McDonald, who was in that conversation as well.
They wouldn't care, he is just another coach to throw under the bus.![]()

This doesn't paint Andrew McDonald in a good light along with the players
Perhaps - but this is just 3rd hand whispers and innuendo at best..? Most people know JL's papers were stamped (for certain) when he publicly defended Paine's resignation with comments that were not at all favourable to his employer, including his emotional retort at the media.![]()
