Any new additions to the coaching panel next year?

I'd like to see Nathan Bassett in, as an assistant. And maybe Brett Ratten as senior assistant. And also Kris Massie as a development coach.

Bassett would still be under contract

I know we already have Dasher Milburn locked in as defensive coach, but finding a role for Ben Rutten would be one 'jobs-for-the-boys' I could happily live with. Possibly mentoring young backs in the 2s?

I'd love crazy Vossy, or crazy Bomber Thompson.

That's crazy talk.

Actually, you do know it is crazy to believe only a forward can teach others to be forwards. It doesn't matter where the coach played, as long as they know how to teach the correct technique, movement and forward line patterns

I'm guessing, a former forward is the only person who knows how to teach leading pattens?

I wonder why Wayne Carey doesn't just roll out key forwards after key forwards them.

I strongly believe a coach does not need that positional experience, but they do need to know how to communicate the important aspects of that position.

I know there's only one Dean Bailey, but the person who is best fit if we are looking for the same type of experience is Brett Ratten.

Formerly a head coach, now assistant at Hawthorn. It wouldn't hurt to add a bit of Hawthorn IP to our current Geelong-centric coaching group.

Not sure what Ratten is like with the players though, as a mentor and communicator.
