I think people get the wrong idea about getting dropped.
You really think a guy who was easily best 18, probably one of the first selected in 2014, was going to get a BOOST in confidence from getting dropped?

The confidence comes from getting your hands on the ball and giving quality disposal which is easier to achieve at the lower level where there is less pressure as far as time and scrutiny.

I am a huge Jonas fan and was pumped he came back and played the way he did at the end of the season. But to say he shouldn't have been dropped when if anything it was 4 weeks late is crazy. He was mentally shot and was the ideal candidate to use to convey a message to the rest of the team.

Michael Godden in the mix for the Magpies job.

Bassett to Port
Former Power star Chad Cornes is a strong contender for the position, while it is understood Port also is interested in Woodville-West Torrens premiership coach Michael Godden, who has guided the Eagles to this year’s SANFL grand final.

I thought we weren't allowed to poach coaches from SANFL clubs as part of the reserves agreement?
Who said we were going to be in the SANFL next year?

it's nothing to do with a boost in confidence, this is about winning football games and we had way too many players in our team this year down on form who didn't get dropped.

It's like 6 games into the EPL season and Mourinho has dropped Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic. He has threatened to drop Hazard and Fabregas as well. It doesn't matter who you are if you consistently play poorly, you deserve to be dropped. And for those that do not rate Mourinho, go have a look at his record, he is an unbelievable team manager.

Yeah but on the flip you can't persist forever under the guise of "she'll be right he'll come good"

Yep Jonas was great in the final four games it was the previous ten that were the problem, some suggest his SNAFLE form was average so what did t achieve but the fact he was dropped should've been the wake up call he needed.

Being told if you don't improve you're dropped and being dropped sound like similar things but they aren't especially if your feeling comfy about your role in the team, anybody whose played sport they've cared about and had this happen to them would know this

Blind faith in players cos they're x games played and y in the BnF is what we all complained about with Choco suddenly that sort of loyalty is what we need?
But it is Ken? everything will be fine......

In one of ruccis articles today where he talks about ports challenge to fit all that tall timber in he refers to the challenge being faced by ports forward coach 'Matthew Nicks' ...... I thought nothing has been announced yet.
So a mistake on Ruccis part or has he let it slip ?

I have NFI who any of those people are but I'm going to assume you've made a good point, so: touché

Doubt it, Rooch is just a fan of mine.

Didn't Nicks play as a half forward?

REally happy with that coaching line up now. The only one that still baffles me is Shaun Hart as Director of Coaching, given he has no experience as a Senior Coach. Many may disagree, but at least Choco if appointed to that role has great experience as assistant and senior coaching, provided he is not allowed to actually provide coaching instruction :p.

Nobody complained when Richardson was the director of coaching.
Additionally, Hart's role is different to the one Richardson occupied. Richardson was there as a strategic support for Ken as the Port board were unsure of having an untried coach with our young group. After 2013 it was clear Ken could coach, so the Director of Coaching role changed from being a strategic one, to being more of a communication/assisting role in making sure that all line coaches knew what was going on and that Ken had someone dedicated to helping him out with the load.

Voss isn't taking over from Carr though?

Derp. I forgot we had two outs and two ins. That said, has anything been announced regarding the lines each of the coaches will be managing?

Really happy with the off season moves we have made in the coaching department. Get the Dixon deal done quick and the off season will be perfect for me in regards to 2016 and beyond.

I'd like to have one more move up our sleeve. Ie Mayes, Aish, redden, toumpass, Bennell... Any of those will do at varying prices naturally
