That'd be Greg Hutchison, not the knobhead Craig, right?
As for Scorps - does it matter? Aren't we aligned with Sandy from 2009?
All I want to see is Silvagni stay and Barker go!
Harves' manager has been in talks with the Blues, Collingwood and St Kilda. Surely he's a good chance to stay at Moorabin.
But I miss himNot for mine...everyone needs to move on and Harve's would be better off at another club for himself and Lyons and the team
■ The post-season exodus of assistant coaches at St Kilda has left Ross Lyon with two major gaps to fill after John Barker last night told the Saints he was accepting Hawthorn's offer to join the coaching panel of the reigning premier.
After Anthony Rock announced this week that he was also rejoining his old club, defence coach Stephen Silvagni is the only assistant who remains of the four-man panel that began as a fresh coaching quartet at Moorabbin in 2007.
Barker, a forward at Fitzroy, Brisbane Lions and Hawthorn, will replace Todd Viney, who left the Hawks after their premiership win and joined Adelaide.
While we're talking about coaching moves, Luke Beveridge is gonna coach the Sandy ... next year!
After being probably the most successful coach in VAFA history, winning the flag in C,B then A Section in successive seasons. He's had his apprentice as a coach, and should do pretty well with the Sandy players.
Good to have him back with the Saints in some capacity anyhow. Was a shock when I heard him say he was retiring as coach of the Tiges, good to go out on top I guess.Maybe he'd already had a whisper in his ear that theres a gig at Sandy waiting for him if he wants it...
Lulz, I wrote Sandy Dragons. What is Sandy again?[/quote]
Sandy Dragons is the TAC cup side. I believe Bevo is coaching them and not the VFL version of Sandy next year.
FORMER North Melbourne player Peter German has emerged as a contender to coach Casey Scorpions.
The VFL club entered the market for a new coach after Greg Hutchison confirmed last Wednesday that he would remain with St Kilda, the Pakenham-Cardinia Leader reports.
Casey offered the respected former Melbourne player the job “for as long as you want it”. But he chose to stay on at the Saints, where he is held in high regard by senior coach Ross Lyon.
Scorpions general manager Brian Woodman said the club was disappointed to lose Hutchison.
“‘Hutchy’ was able to take our young players and a more mature St Kilda list and ble nd them into a team that raised the bar well above the heights people thought they would achieve,” he said. “His methods, his understanding of the competition and his great mind were able to give us a fantastic edge.”
Hutchison said he had thoroughly enjoyed his year at Casey but was content to play a support role at St Kilda.
