so who are you tipping in next weeks gabba clash?

the question i'm asking is what's more dangerous, a lions outfit when their on fire or one when they're down and desperate?

Should be a close game, but I think the Eagles will have too much leg speed in the 2nd half and win by about 3 goals.

I'm predicting the Lions to give the Weags a hiding. WCE due for a loss. Brisbane overdue for a win. They won't lose 2 in a row at the Gabba. Voss and Lappin should be back, and champion teams like the Lions respond after embarassing defeats.

Lions by 48 points.

Normally id be confident of a win but this game scares the you-know-what out of me!
We loose and we are offically screwed and WCoast dont mind coming over to the gabba
Like Sydney, we dont scare them at all!

If the guys have any pride in themselves or the club they should be fired up at the first to last bounce!

Despite my concerns, i not giving up on my boys and believe that they will win and will make it into the top 4!!!! We gotta win all of our games from hear on end admittly but if ANY team can do it, WE CAN!!!!!

GO LIOINS!

I can't see the Lions dominating this game as the Eagles midfield wont allow it.It will be either a close game (which is what i am predicting) or a West Coast thumping.

Really I was shocked how slow the Lions looked. It just shows how confidence can so quickly drop. I say that in regards to being a Collingwood supporter and how bad disposals and wrong decisions just so suddenly appear in a teams game.

The other thing is maby it doesnt take as long as people think to rebuild a side. I dont think any team can right a season of yet so at the of round 22, who knows.

This is probably the worst week in the season to take on brisbane, they'll be angry and hurting, and I think everyone knows how good teams react.

I'm reasonably confident, because a.) we have a good record at the gabba, and b.) a couple of very big ins- Kerr and Gardiner will probably be back this week.

IMO, the game of the round, can't wait for this one.

I think it is going to be a very hard and bruising encounter and think the Lions will play far more defensively (flood). They will probably conceed the Eagles will get a lot of the ball in the middle with so many of their midfielders out and just make it ridiculously difficult to find any space in their forward line. They will open up their forward line and try and expose a one-on-one contest with Bradshaw vs Glass.

Eagles get a lot of drive out of their defense and you need to pull guys like Wirrupunda wide and out of the contest.

The question is if they can pull it off. They definitely have the ability but the Eagles have been savage when going to the Gabba. I think Matthews will have to play a gameplan that is aggressive in countering the Eagle strengths, he often lets the Lions be the hunted and just play his normal gameplan.

To win I think he will have to conjure up a plan B. Can he do that in a week? Not sure. They will have to play far more accountable than they did against the Hawks. Should be a great game. Lions wont want to drop another home game so soon.

Brissys season is on the line this week, lose and its along way back. The eagles are playing well but they couldnt have picked a worse week to play them at the Gabba.

I am not sure who Brissy will get back, but it's so important for them......

Brissy by over 3 goals i think

Brissie are going to be pretty hungry for a win, Eagles are playing good footy but will need to be at their very best to go up there and win. They've done it before but I think Brissie should be desperate enough to not let another one slip at home. Should be a good game.

For Gods sake eagles u must let brisbane win this week for the sake of essendon, there is no ********ing way I want essendon facing a fired up brisbane side with jonathon brown back and their season the line. we r already going to get beaten by them but if their season is on the line going into this game then I fear for how large the margin may be.

Im a bit weary playing the lions after the loss they suffered this week. Leigh wont let them lose another game. I am extremely nervous, but also aprehensive about the game. Im hoping that it is a good contest.

GO THE COASTERS

Hold it a second, wasn't everybody saying last week that ...ohh Brisbane will be so fired up and trash the hawks, they wont want to loose 3 in a row for the first time under lethal...... I feel sorry for the hawks, the lions will be angry after last week there going to destroy them.

I'm sorry but how many more games will they have to loose for people to stop and see that perhaps they are not capable of just getting angry and winning because the let a game slip the week before.

This is different, Sydney are not a bad side and have the wood over Brisbane. Hawthorn are a very young side and are predicted by 90% of people for the Spoon and they thrashed them. I sure hope WCE don't think like you're thinking - that the Lions aren't capable of turning it on because they are angry - or else they are in for the mother of all hidings.

You mean like the 130+ point hiding you guys copped there last year? That was a doosie....

Well yeah maybe. I don't see how Adelaide is relevant in this discussion, but I'm guessing it's because I didn't cream myself over WCE, tell you guys how friggin good you are and that you will pump the Lions because you are just so damn good.

And FYI, it was more like 140+... ;)

I can give you some more praise to feed your guys ever growing ego. Glass is the no.1 FB in the comp, he will crap on Bradshaw this week. Hansen is without a doubt the best young CHF in the game, who will match up on him, Mal who? Your midfield is probably the best midfield that has ever graced this game over the 110-odd years it has been played. Brisbane is the Eagles b*tch even though you always seem to play them with lots of players out, you still have the wood over them and will no doubt contest them as the greatest team of the modern era and probably ever. That, of course, is after you go the whole season undefeated because there is no way anyone could touch you at Subiaco and after one win against Adelaide away you have completely overcome any travel problems you may have had.

Ode to the Weags of '05.
